I will give this team some time. Even the Celtics under Udoka took till January to really click. They need to figure out how BI changes the complexity of the attack.
I expect this team will also have ups and downs in the first 20 to 30 games.
So we'll need to see how they gel in mid or late December. At that time we might now if it's tank season again or they gonnna gun 4 playoffs.

If this goes south, I don't think they have 20 games.

I hope is a eye opener for him and the staff, his success is close to the basket. And rebound and defense and fast break.
Doubtful. But hope springs eternal.
And when a bucket is needed look for BI. Next: profit.

+30 in fast break points and you win by 5 against this Nets team. Wonder what that means…
It’s preseason. It literally means nothing
Oh my bad, they shouldn't broadcast these games. I'd hate for anyone to think they might mean something.
You can’t take much from preseason because no one is going all out and you have second stringers and third stringers getting tons of minutes.
You can’t really read to much into the Nets making a comeback, they just got hot. We won 2 games on buzzer beaters in the preseason, we could be 2 and 4 but that doesn’t really say anything about our team. These games are basically just warm ups before the regular season

First 20 games are Hawks twice, Bucks twice, Sixers twice, Pacers twice, Cavs 3 times, Hornets twice, Brooklyn twice, Mavs, Spurs, Rockets, Grizzlies, Wizards. It will be a good test for this team to see how they stack up against playoff teams and if they can put away the likes of the Nets and Hornets consistently

Im surprised that Dick was on the floor for a few possessions at the end instead of Mamu. I cant think of a single thing Dick does better than Mamu. Dudes gonna be one my favorites as long as hes paired with a rim protector.
If the need is scoring, as opposed to protecting a lead, how many non-perimeter shooting pylons do you want out there with Scottie, who can't reliably hit a three pointer? The idea of Dick or Walter in crunch time would be to pull defenders out of the mid-range to cover fast movement shooters so someone either has a clear look or the bigs have better position to rebound a miss

I didn't catch all the preseason games but I don't take too much from them at all. They're tune up games mainly. Trying out new sets and the rotations are all over the place.
This team should be an above .500 team this year. I'm saying they'll be world beaters but we should see improvement in win totals this year.

Toronto man cannot believe player dealing with injury, looks much better once injury is more healed.
This is the fault of the team. They need to be more transparent. If a player is injured, then tell us rather than leaving us with just speculation.

It's a bit early for that isnt' it? Only Demin was high pick. He is the most important. As for the other we shall see.
Sometimes you just know.
Perhaps. They certainly weren't safe picks. If Demin turns out like a Giddey is that a bust? I don't think so. And I'm sure the Nets have higher hopes than that, although realistically would accept a Giddey like outcome as well. The way I see it the Nets are star hunting. When they dropped back to 8th those hopes died and they punted to the 2026 draft with top 4 dreams. Demin is a swing for a homerun that might be a strike out. Nolan fell far so they said why not lets see. Saraf and Powell I imagine they see as potential bench pieces down the road. And Danny Wolf is the definition of a hit or miss pick. He does some nice stuff on the court. And other, not so nice stuff on the court.
Ultimately I think they want to ensure they get a good draft pick this upcoming draft. Perhaps they saw Jase Richardson and Nique Clifford as early return floor raisers that lack the star potential they seek. But who could jeopardize their 2026 tanking dreams.
Demin is the only guy with upside out of the 5 but he has significant holes in his game. Lots didn’t see him warrant a 8th pick, myself included.

Wtf is this garbage? Scottie is now faking injuries to "protect" himself from criticism?
Option 1. Rest from injury. Reaction: "Scottie is soft and injury prone"
Option 2. Plays with soreness. Reaction: "he's lazy, too passive, and just not playing well out there."
Option 3. Plays aggressively with soreness. Reaction: "this guy is a faker and lies about his injuries."

Nor did Nets fans from the reaction. Demin will need to develop a shot and provide defence I'm thinking. I'm kinda rooting for him as he could be fun to watch.

He’ll not only need a shot, he’ll need to learn how to get into the lane and use his body. Once he gets stopped he has no counters.

Yeah, he does this. It's not uncommon in the NBA.

Paul Pierce told you that Scottie Barnes fakes his injuries?

I'm not sure CMB would be on the court since he is a front court player who isn'y going to draw defenders out to the perimeter to open up space for the guys you want taking shots (Quickly, Ingram in particular).

Theres more to basketball 1 side of the court. We got lucky we were playing a Nets team that has a lot of scrubs. You face a team with a decent front court and that lineup would get laughed off the court.
