Toumani Camara, Trail Blazers Agree To Four-Year, $82M Extension

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Oct 19, 2025 10:39 pm

The Portland Trail Blazers and forward Toumani Camara have agreed to a four-year, $82 million extension. The Trail Blazers are declining their team option for Camara for the 2026-27 season in order to give him the four-year extension. Portland now locks up the All-Defensive second team player through the 2029-30 season.

Camara stated in all 78 games he played for the Blazers in his second season. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 11.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Camara shot 45.8% from the field, including 37.5% on 4.6 three-point attempts per game.

Realgm disappointing me. Not a single person who hasn’t followed basketball for years popping in to say ‘what’s a Toumani Camara’?

He is the next Aaron Gordon. I hope a contender is able to get a hold of him in the future.

This is a steal for the Blazers! Compared to Sharpe, Camara is/will be 10 times better. Already one of the best and most versatile defenders in the league.

He might be the anti-Aaron Gordon. AG was a one-and-done #4 pick that was supposed to be a star and fond his niche as a high-level role player. Camara was a 4-year college player and a #52 pick that was projected as a spot contributor that could potentially grow into a high-level role player.

What I meant is not the journey, but their intangibles. Camara absolutely can be the glue guy for a championship team.

Absolutely, I wasn't trying to disagree with you. I see the similarities in their game. I just find it interesting that before the championship Gordon's career path was viewed as a disappointment. If Camara reaches that level it will be viewed as a triumph.
