Also overuse

Little and Hoffman especially were used a lot in those 1-2 run games through the first half of the season

They declined drastically after the ASB

Yeah, if Springer can't hit with any power because of that knee, he needs to take a seat for the good of the team. Davis Schneider is right there to take those ABs.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

It’s affecting his hitting.

He was behind the hitters the whole time.

It's always calm when we're batting but once it's time for us to pitch heart rates always go way up

Because he would be used to eat up innings, not high leverage situations.

He was our best pitcher in game two. Sometimes you have to scratch your head with how this team makes decisions.

Well, that’s stupid. He’s pitched over 200 games with over 1200 innings. He’s a bona fide major-league pitcher. Compared to some of the bums back there.

Yeah...we're not scoring another run against this insane Mariners bullpen. Its stud after stud. We will actually need our bullpen to hold a 3 run lead over 3 innings. I dunno man.

I'm actually surprised he's playing tonight. That was a 95mph fastball directly on the right knee, and there is no protection there.

Command.and location is our bp,s biggest flaw.Lauer does not have high velo, but he has good command, and can locate it where he wants to.Fisher can also do that, yet they are hardly ever used, and f.o. blows easy decisions lol. SMH. :banghead:

No it’s individual talent… good stuff doesn’t mean good pitcher. Look at Nate Pearson, Aaron Sanchez, etc

But look at guys like Varland, Seranthony, Hoffman etc. They were all great on other teams before we got them. Why are they ineffective here. There needs to be a deep dive on this.

How about looking at Pete Walker? Longest reign as Pitching Coach in MLB. Has been here 13 years, and presided over mediocre to bad bullpens for years with no consequences.

Look at the trash bullpen of 2021, and even the past two years. Why is he automatically pencilled in as a Pitching Coach every year? Walker was also a mediocre to bad pitcher in his MLB career.
