but maybe Mike Brown wants to use Mitch the same way Golden State used Kevin Looney

Looney never started every game for the Warriors in the playoffs. Some regular seasons he started almost every game, other seasons he came off the bench half the time, and other seasons he came off the bench most the time

Knicks would have to develop Golden State level chemistry to pull that off though

The team is introducing a new system and that requires reps and consistency. The way to limit Mitch minutes would be to have him come off of the bench. He’s simply not built for the necessary reps and workload

I remember that. It would actually be encouraging if it were his hands and not feet that were at issue.

If your problem is Mitch gets hurt a lot that’s fair.

If your solution is starting Kat at center and thinking you can win a championship you’re completely lost lol

If the plan is to start 2 bigs, he’ll have to be. We’re probably gonna need to add another.

Wasn't there a report we had interest in Kornet...maybe I'm making that up but those type of guys sign for way more than we had to spend.

We had the taxpayer mid level with it about 5 MM...your not getting a super impactful player at that type of 2 year deal.

There are a lot of parallels.

Well, like Sham said, if it goes that way maybe third time is the charm. Though to keep the metaphor going it would be Johnnie Bryant getting the call.

MItch's health and the consistency with the starting lineup was always a big reason most have issues with relying on Mitch as a full time starter. It just doesn't make sense. We need to get him through a season healthy for when it really matters. He barely played in the regular season last year and was able to ramp it up and make an impact in the playoffs. So doing it over 82 games makes no sense to me.

Also since we rarely ran true 5 out last year its not crazy to say most want to at least give it a shot and really see how teams will guard us with 5 legit shooters on the floor at all times.

Also early returns are KAT is neutered at the 4 offensively...that is something to monitor if we are really making him a full time PF.

Neither Brunson or Kat seem that enthusiastic about him and the season hasn’t even started. The Don Nelson part 2 vibes are forming. Get van gundy on line 2 to see if he might be interested in taking over in February lol

The fans are trying to say these are all positives though...

-Players injured today means more energy saved for the playoffs
-Brown's offense is too genius to be figured out before the as break
-No Brogdan will let the kids shine

I’m gonna give Mike Brown some time, and the benefit of the doubt for now, but I can’t wrap my head around what his plan is. Looks like the team doesn’t know either. Mitch’s health issues were predictable to anyone with half a brain, and this pace and space offense hasn’t born any fruit.

Let’s see how this plays out
