Great game by the D. They have their issues because of the key injuries and youth but they came up when they had to and the offense did them no favors. McCaffrey though was the savior on offense. He balled tonight. I didnt see any dropoff to Hennessey playing center. Hope he gets another chance and see how he holds up to tougher competition

Running game got going finally and it wasn’t just because Kittle came back. Maybe an edge in them having to cross the country on a short week because their defense had been playing very well. A couple of pitches got blown up because they had Jennings try to block DEs on the edge.
They showed a photo of Jones in college. He had a big paunch! No wonder why they said he didn’t look like a pro athlete, though he put up good numbers at a top program. Of course he was throwing to absolute elite WRs who were winning their matchups easily.
It's not just because of Kittle but it's a big part, Kittle is like an extra linemen out there. Juan's blocking helps to. it's the first game CMC looked like CMC running though.
I havent looked at the numbers yet, but i also feel like Colby and Hennesey did better once Brendel went out. Mac had the most time to pass of any game this year.

I like Stout and Green, but niners need to find a way to get Lucas more play time, the guy is a ball hawk, I love how he plays the ball, he makes plays every time he's on the field. We could use some INTs.

You think? Not sure the HC stank wears off after one season.
Anyways, just got done watching it delayed…Jays Game 6…and it’s the first game CMC looked like CMC. Salah is doing a hell of a job, and our young D players are making this kinda painful because with Bosa and Fred we really might have had something this year once the injured O guys start coming back. Jones is looking like an ideal backup, and the way they’re talking about Purdy’s turftoe…might be a long while before we see him again. Or he’s back next week, I can never get a handle on Niner injury expectations because they throw out so much smoke.

I'd say there is a reasonable chance that someone scoops him up but he might need to put together one more good season to really rehab his head coaching chances.
The issue that he's going to have is that teams generally hire offensive-minded guys for coaches whereas defensive-minded guys have an uphill battle getting jobs.
We also don't know if he can put together a quality offensive coaching staff. No question he can coach defense but we've seen plenty of guys that can coach great defenses but can't get it right on offense.
And if I'm Saleh I'd be super picky about my next head coaching gig. In the NFL you don't get a 3rd chance if you fail twice in a row and he's well paid and young enough that you don't need to scoop up any job thrown at you. The more great years he puts in a coordinator the better your odds of landing a quality gig increase.

I think CMC looked like CMC because he wasn't getting hit 2 yards behind the LOS and we actually had decent blocking. He has the 2nd most missed tackles in the league so it's not like he's not making guys miss but it's just hard to get going when you're having to make guys miss as soon as you get the handoff.

I don't think it is so much smoke as it is all the media outlets and those on social media trying to create news and draw attention with headlines. Purdy's injury is tough because he reinjured it last time he tried playing on it. Really the takeaway I get from stories the past week or so is that it is getting better and feels better but isn't quite there yet. Some injuries if player is good enough to play through it they can. This one Purdy can't so it really is almost day by day.

It will be interesting to see how PFF grades the pass blocking this week with Hennessey

Oh come on! Just don't have anyone to rush the passer at all? That's cool.
What's with all the hamstring injuries?

Re: Falcons @ 49ers, SNF
Why is it impossible to get through a single game without losing a key contributor to injury for multiple weeks?
With basically zero outside pass rushers available, Lynch basically has to make a move of some kind doesn't he. Even if it just trading a 6th rounder for a 7th rounder + a JAG type dude that is familiar with the system. Right now, they just need a body to soak up some snaps.
