Are they going to reuse Roundball Rock? That ship has sailed IMO. There's no reason to bring back that music just for nostalgia. That theme reminds me of Karl Malone, Kobe/Shaq, KG and all those late 90's era games. They should come up with something new and stop reusing old stuff.

It’s going to be new memories for all the kids today.

It wasn't just the music. It was also the pregame hype videos narrated by Bob Costas/Marv Albert that made some random January game feel like Game 7 of the Finals.

Considereing YouTube creators like The Next Chapter, etc can do this for 1v1 games with people one might not even know and make it seem super hyped, the fact that NBA partners regardless of broadcast isn't ALWAYS doing this is sad.

"You know they say you can't go home again"

You can go to the physical location, but it still won't feel like home. You can copy the same music from the 90s, you will never get that 90s feel.

I enjoyed the song, will be happy to hear a new or modified take for this iteration. It's not going to be the reason I watch NBC, I will watch NBC because they broadcast NBA games lol

Theme songs help us associate to the sport with only audio clues and that's pretty neat that Lesh's piece has that effect (TNTs was nice also).

I said this in the thread long ago about NBC getting rights and potentially using "Roundball Rock", but it's a real fun combination on piano if there are any keys players around here...give it a try & you can impress some of your ball-knowing friends with a little ditty. (I don't do it proper justice but people recognize it )

But if you hear that intro...are you changing the channel!

Who am I kidding...it's all online anyway. But if you still used a remote control on a tv. I know I'd be less likely to surf.

Lol, it will bring back good memories, but I'll be on the channel with the intention to watch that game already if that's the case

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's really felt like TNT and ESPN have wanted the NBA to die while also spending billions for the rights. This is just one more example.
