Lakers went from being a lottery team with max contract Westbrook in 2022 to Conference Finals berth in 2023 once they traded him. That's how horrible Westbrook was in Lakers locker room that once he's gone, the team finally got a great chemistry they had a successful playoffs run. It should be obvious who's the problem but I can't blame Russ for saying this, he got exposed and only got paid minimum contract since then and It's better to blame the bigger name rather than his shortcomings and attitude as a player especially that old players from his prime era like Bron, Steph, KD, Harden etc. still getting paid max money or close to it while no team wanted Westbrook even for minimum contract until the last minute before new season starts.

Lol, being a professional means you don't air the locker room's dirty laundry for everyone to see.

As far as everyone knows, all this was known inside the locker room as evidenced how often Westbrook tried his best to be effective (and changing his playstyle, to no avail) next to Lebron and AD that season before he was ultimately traded.
