I don't think any first-class org would love to lose in the first round with the league's oldest roster for three years in a row.

Frank & Coaching presented us their peak performance this season.

If that meltdown against Denver is their peak performance, then they need to be fired. A first-class organization wins that series in 5 or 6 games.

I must have missed when Ballmer followed that up by totally cleaning house with the front office and coaching staff and hiring the best team-builders and player developers in the world to replace them.

And since we're a "first-class" organization now, surely we must have an actual plan to build a serious, sustainable team. We aren't just pinning our hopes on overpaying for the decline years of aging mercenary "stars" who don't give a crap about the franchise in free agency, right?

This is just bitter talk. We got it bro it sucks to see SGA winning FMVP with other team and it looks like they will be the top dog for like at least next 5 more years.

But you got to stop comparing Clippers vs OKC thing with that 2019 trade. Every one of you. It's unhealthy. Focus on what you have.

We got one of the most successful season based on the expectations, got nothing but praises in 2024-25. Zu become All-NBA. Norm got career year. Harden returned to All-NBA level. All with Kawhi on the shelf most of season. Solid valuable signings like Dunn, DJJ happened. No Locker room drama, on-court BS. SVG help our Defense became top 3 ranked. Fantastic homecourt opening throughout the season. We got hell of a fight in the playoffs, lost in a 7 game series against the best player in the world. 2025 Clippers is a team any first class org would love to have it. Frank & Coaching presented us their peak performance this season. All we can do as a fan is supporting this 2025 team for trying something different for this time. Hopefully we build on this in 2025-26.

We might not be a top 5 contender, but it ain't hell. It's still fuçking enjoyable, made me proudful to be a clipper fan around my people.

No.

This isn’t enough and the loyal fans deserve better. We deserve ONCE to walk in to school, work, the gym, and tell our Laker fan friends the Clippers are champs. Beating expectations to go 50-32 and lose in the first round is okay…I guess. It always merits the question, why the hell were the expectations so low in the first place?

The Shai trade should be rubbed in Ballmer and the FO’s face. They need to be reminded that the entire pursuit and obtaining of Kawhi was a mediocre idea with even worse execution.

We can’t do much as fans but we can, at least, state our opinions on our teams message board on RealGM.

Agreed. Us voicing our opinion means we care and have a pulse as a fanbase. This is lightweight stuff anyways. Lakers, Knicks, Celtics, Bulls fans would've took to the streets and had somebody's head on a platter if the SGA situation happen to them. I think Kawhi chose us in part because we're soft and would be simply happy that he donned a Clipper jersey over a Lakers one. The front office has gotten by far too long with the "We're in win now mode" rallying cry in justifying all their moves why certain players don't play. But you're not in "win now mode" with no backup point guard, no backup center, not much of a bench, stars gassed in the postseason, and first round exits every season.

That's why these situations have to be a learning curve for so as they don't keep making the same mistakes, even though they keep making the same mistake... even hinting to get ready for a new 213 era in 2027 when cap space opens up. We'll see what happens, but we have to keep voicing our opinions no matter what. We're fans and that's what fans do.

presser replay reactions start after 21m30s.

Cool that John Collins was at Harden's AZ mini-camp. Seeing his presser JC was pretty amped and upbeat.. I still have little doubt he'll be the starter at PF most of the season.

Beal will be POA defender on perimeter, and JVG has been on his azz.

Both those guys are gonna be interesting to watch in a few ways.

Apparently Clippers staff at TC are wearing some interesting shirts with a themed expletitive. "Get the **** back".

Definitely inspired by JVG : )

I blame Denver :P

Russ' signs with Sactown..

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/282312/Russell-Westbrook-Kings-Sign-One-Year-$36M-Deal

Get to see him 4 times this year.

Going to be interesting in the respect of the bulk of the Kings perimeter roster. Question how he'll fit in comp. to a situation like Denver.

Russ'
DeRozan
LaVine
Monk
Schroeder

At least they have Keon Ellis and Keegan Murray though; also could see a trade happening later.

Yeah definitely going to be some rough games.. Russ' is best playing as a forward now, and moreso at PF.. kind of like how Bruce Brown played in Brooklyn and Denver.

With the possible exception of some bigs, who need time to grow into their bodies, I don't believe in "player development." You either got it or you don't. For all the phlegm spat at Doc, he had Shai starting by his 10th NBA game. And he gave Jerome [two picks later] the same chance and he was ASS.

I do believe we can't draft worth a damn, especially these late, low-value picks. We haven't hit on ANYBODY except T-Mann, who we developed as much as possible, and who is still pretty much ass.

[T-Mann will be one of the best players on the hopeless and hapless Nets, joining...wait for it...MICHAEL PORTER JR as the starting forwards. :rofl2: ]

Gotta agree that the problem isn't development. It's lousy drafting or lousy scouting; take your pick. Of course, we’ve traded away so many of our picks this decade that it’s kind of pointless. In terms of acquiring youth, we’ve got the triple whammy.

• We’re near the second apron, so it’s hard to pick up younger players with potential.
• We don’t have many picks
• We win a pretty good amount, so the picks we do have are lower.

I mean, in the last seven years, we’ve had three first round picks, which have never been higher than 25. The #25 pick was Reggie Perry, who was useless, but we traded him right after we drafted him for Keon Johnson. Also useless. The other two picks were Kobe Brown (I get the reasoning, but he lacked/lacks the physical tools) and Yanic (TBD).

It’s true that we haven’t found many diamonds. Still, Cam Christie looks like a player. Kobe Sanders could be the next Amir Coffey. In retrospect, the drafting/scouting is more mediocre than lousy. We haven't had enough chances to be described as lousy
