Eh. Penny's talent was evident on day one. There is no comparison. AB could pan out, break out or drop out at this stage. Who knows for sure.

AB can guard Wemby?
AB with Penny comparisons?

Either eyriq has some burner accounts or he is now unconscious and dehydrated from you know what

Pistons seem likely to forgo rookie contract extensions for Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren

What wonderful news for Orlando. Detroit will play with two disgruntled players this year and, from next year, will probably have lost one or both of these young guns. Closing the window before it's fully open, to quote my son, "Well Done".

T'is all post-“Skibidi”:

Pistons were on pace to win 37 games with Ivey. "Losing" him was massive bonus last year.

Duren probably wants more than anybody has money to pay him.

Fact that now 11 ppg guys want max contract is hilarious.

Season is yet to start, and delulu trips already started.

If anything, with Jones and Bane addition and decision to keep Suggs, front office agreed on two things:
1) Black isn't point guard and they are well aware of it
2) Black isn't all that important for team going forward

I said it to myself that i won't waste my time talking about marginal role players any more. So this is last time i will mention marginal role player in my post as some observation for a while.

I hate watching the NBA aside from the Magic, but I guess I'll tune into Peacock tonight. I want to see how NBC does the production.

Come on, now's where you backtrack and say "for a couple of seconds off of a switch as long as he picks up his dribble on the perimeter"...silliness, AB might be an elite defender but he's not stopping an insanely skilled, giant-sized, mobile Center...very few players at any spot can claim that....or do you mean "hold him to 30"?

So you admit he did defend him well when called upon?

There is and will be * to that line. Didn't say lock down. I said he can defend him. That's something he is talented enough to do.

I presently admit I do not know of anyone who can lock down Wemby for 48 minutes.

Also when I wrote that, I was working on < 4 hours of sleep due to challenges with my sons disability.

I watched the 76ers play the other day, and Embiid fell and was holding his knee screaming. I'm not sure if he's going to hold up. They do have Bona, who's a decent center.

I have no faith in Embiid holding up. Or George for that matter.

If they can then that team is probably pretty good, but it just feels so unlikely to me. They still have Maxey, Edgecombe and hopefully McCain soon to watch regardless though, so even if they are bad it should be fun for the fans IMO.

Any of you watched the double OT opening game?

Man... we really need a foul merchant. We need Paolo to really sell on the fouls. SGA and Brunson ruined the game for me but the league is rewarding them for it so might as wellnplay with it

I tuned in during OT and that was some terrible basketball. Neither team looked sharp during the first game as you'd expect, and they were probably exhausted. I'll resume watching only the Magic and ignoring the rest of the league.

The only amusing thing was to see Houston running big lineups without a real point guard. Sounds familiar!

Paolo didn't play enough games to rank/qualify, but at his 8.4 FTAPG, he would have been #3 right behind SGA (8.8), and Giannis (10.6)

Trae was next at 7.4. Brunson was at 6.9

Houston isn't going anywhere this season and they will never win with KD as their best scoring wing. Thy need a real point guard and another wing scorer to be taken seriously
