2017 Warriors had the most talent ever, '86 Celtics are right behind them.

The '86 Celtics roster was insane.

Bird - Best player in the league. MVP winner.
McHale - Entering his peak, unstoppable during the postseason that year. Top 5 player in the league.
Parish - All-Star center. Gave you 16/10 a night & reliable defense.
DJ - One of the best defensive guards ever. Still in his prime, was an all-star the year prior.
Ainge - Entering his prime. versatile 2 guard who is one of the best role players ever
Walton - 6MOY award winner that season. Best back up center in the league
Wedman - Former All-star, now role player. Known for his shooting
Sichting - Like Wedman, known for his shooting. Pesky defender who never seemed to miss a mid-range shot.

Not enough perimeter defense to be elite in today's game. Too slow and clunky, too. I raise you the 2004 Lakers:

Bryant - Top 3 player in the league. Entering his prime.
O'Neal - Top 5 player in the league. Exiting his prime, but can still give you 40 and 20 in a playoff game.
Payton - One of the best defensive guards ever. Still in the tail-end of his prime, was an all-star the year prior.
Malone - Still a solid, all-around player. When he got hurt, the Lakers struggled big time.
Fisher - Clutch 3-point shooter and scrappy playoff player.
Fox - Exiting his prime, but can still knock down threes and pass the rock well.
George - underrated 3&D player.
Medvedenko - unreal mid-range shooter. Played well in game 5 of the NBA Finals.
Walton - unbelievable passer.
G - James | Rondo
G - Bradley | Caruso
F - Green | Caldwell-Pope
F - Davis | Kuzma | Morris
C - McGee | Howard

There’s no team in NBA history whose 4th best player is considered by everyone to be a near-max or max player. Your 4th best player is a DPOY big man who gets 8 assists and has won a title already in that role lol.

That’s why everyone but the rockets and Cavs packed it up and punted on that season.

Iggy was a big man? I can see PDOY level perhaps though that seems a bit much.

There's obviously only one DPOY on the warriors and Iggy was never worthy of near-max on the warriors. Don't really care how you rank them, the point is these guys had proved they could win as 2nd/3rd best players on a championship squad, then they became less needed lol

lol, perhaps but there's no planet Klay was the 3rd best guy...far more of an argument for iggy over him than him over Dray. And this is a problem as many people want to value Klay as an allstar level player when he simply wouldn't have been without Steph and perhaps not without Dray too.
