I have been so used to American NBA players seemingly "trying to say the right things". Almost like its forced sometimes. We have had a few honest guys who loved it here....Derozan was one. Nobody of Vladdy's stardom though.

Vladdy is genuine. We are lucky to have him.

Vladdy is Canadian though, so it kind of checks out.

Interesting question, I'd think the Dodgers are probably more of a prohibitive favourite than GSW was in 2019.

Bucks play you guys at the same time as game 1. I believe the 2 venues are very close? Sounds like a traffic jam.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Warriors were -168 in preseason, Dodgers were +225 in preseason.

IDK how they look to start the finals. But I would say the GSW were by far seen as more dominant. Baseball is just way more of a toss up naturally.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

As a non Toronto resident, I don't think many people are driving in downtown Toronto.

It will indeed be pandemonium. Unless you live around the lakeshore train line, there isn’t really great public transit into downtown.

Even when it’s been just the Jays playing, traffic has still been chaos.

Traffic is always chaos everywhere in the GTA all the time.

Except maybe between 1 am and 6:30 am, and 9:30 am to 11:30 am. At all other times, take the subway or walk/bike.

I am holding out hope that they'll change the Raptors game time to avoid overlap. Not sure it will happen though.

Damn shame we will have to pick and choose. Likely will have 2 TVs rocking in my house lol.

Might be the least exciting the city will be for opening night for Toronto in a long time.

Not sure when they could even change the time to work out better though. Maybe an early start? But then the rest of Canada cant watch so not really any better.

Warriors with Durant would've been bigger favorites but without him Dodgers are bigger.

It's easy to see why the Dodgers are heavy favourites. But these Jays have a knack for hitting great pitching - the more velo the better from some odd reason. It will probably come own to whether Bo Bichette (2nd most hits in the majors this season despite not playing the last 20 games) can (a) be available and (b) play a position that doesn't hurt us defensively.

But the Blue Jays have an ace up their sleeve for that matchup. After missing the entire postseason so far, injured shortstop Bo Bichette said he will return to the team for the World Series, according to the ESPN.

When asked about his availability, Bichette said, "I'll be ready."

Halladay was an all time great pitcher and he enjoyed his time here, although he wasn't the super vocal leader type and those Jays teams were not very good. Unfortunately, he never got an opportunity to pitch in the playoffs here.

I'm not a baseball man. But who has the greater rizz: Vladdy or Shohei? From what I understand, apart from his wonderful performance in G4, Shohei has not been consistently dominant like Vladdy.

Kawhi was the highest rizz player in the game during the 2019 play-offs, even if he limped into the Finals, having had the higher peak up until that point and consistent game impact (I don't think any Warrior has ever been as impactful as Kawhi was against the Bucks, where he both played excellent defense against their best player and performed like an elite volume scorer. It's probably the best single series performance I've ever seen, now that I think about it lol).

Shohei hasn't been great in these playoffs minus a couple of games but he's on another level than Vladdy. He is a once in a lifetime talent. He can dominate a game like no one else in baseball.

Shohei isn't really a vocal guy like Vladdy is, he's Japanese after all. He's more reserved.

The thing is though, the Dodgers don't even need to dominate because they as so loaded. They probably don't even need him to win the World Series.

Vladdy has been better in the playoffs this year though.

Vlad rizz is superb right now though after Ohtani didn't really carry the Dodgers last playoffs and most of this playoffs maybe he is due, plus there is a risk he closes out elimination game pitching or something.

Scherzer definitely has more old guy rizz than Kershaw.

That is very interesting.

I suppose what I am interested in is whether Shohei WILL rise to the occasion. We know that he can. But does he have the will? Does he have the Will of D (Will of Dodgers)?

Lebron was regarded as having higher rizz than Dirk in 2011, but he was not able to rise to the occasion. The Finals intensity and veteran gamesmanship was too much for him! Does Shohei Ohtani have that rizz?!?
