There seems to be a growing consensus that a lot of teams picking between around 12-25 screwed up royally in not taking or trading up for Kasparas, us included. I like Will Riley plenty too, tons of upside, but yeah, I definitely think loads of teams are going to regret him falling from top 7 or 8 to 20 and not either doing something about it (trading up), or taking him at slot.
I watched Kasparas quite a few times and the more I watched him the less I liked him. He loves taking step back 3s which he isn't very good at. He doesn't get much separation and doesn't shoot them that well. Not very dynamic with the ball
The deal breaker for me was his passing. He had so many bad turnovers it was ridiculous. He would try passes that he had very little chance of completing. He did it over and over which struck me as low IQ. I saw no sign of improvement late in the season. He had 6 turnovers in each of his last 4 games.
I knew nothing about Riley until I started scouting Kasparas and was definitely more impressed with him than Kasparas. By the end of the season the only thing I liked about Kasparas was his aggression taking it to the basket.
