Mike brown ran him to the ground in practice

This is the most injuries we’ve ever had to start a season. Definitely a maniac in practice.

Well at least we have our excuses lined up if we get our arse handed to us tonight. Didnt think we would be making excuses already on opening night but thus the life of a Knicks fan.

What are you even practicing for half your team to be injured and still look awful in preseason?

3 other credible reporters said the same thing as well.

So I’m not sure how anyone can say this wasn’t forced by Dolan. Someone is feeding mpharris bad info lol.

your going to believe what you want to believe regardless of what facts are provided to you.

The article you quoted from Katz directly contradicts the current reporting.

Leon Rose and the FO was growing apart but Katz said they had complete alignment. The current report is that the players especially Brunson did not step in and fight for Thibs to stay and have his back...but Katz said Brunson had thibs back.

Why would Thibs feel betrayed if he had the backing of his closest friends in the organization? He wasn't friends with Dolan

Did you even read the article  the quote that Gravy provided to you clearly says that they gave up on defending Thibs because Dolan was going to get rid of him regardless.

In terms of betrayal, it’s pretty obvious that it’s about the players talking bad about Thibs to Dolan, because once again they were pressured and influenced by Dolan.

So there’s really no contraindications at all. In fact, it was just more confirmation that this was all Dolan’s doing. The title of the article is literally “ Is James Dolan having fun yet? The Knicks owner had better be after latest coaching change”

You can choose to believe what you want. We have at least 4 credible reporters saying this was Dolan. The facts are there.

Did you read it??? The article is framed as the sources "opinion" how is an opinion a fact? Why would someone lie about Dolans involvement from Thibs perspective? Thats where my angle is coming from.

He grew up and had strong relations with Leon, Rick, and Jalen. Hence betrayed.

It’s better this way. Let’s get all of the angst and drama out of the way early. It’s like jumping into the cold pool instead of dipping our toe in. We'll be stronger for it

to be fair a lot of this is media driven. Clear downside of playing and rooting for a team in NY. Negative news sells and gets clicks. Its always been the case. Look at the news.

For sure, and I also dont like accountability so this it's isnt on brand. But we're to blame too. This fan base is toxic af and thrives off negativity. Also we tend to have some questionable players, like coach killer mikal and the owner is suspect. What im trying to say is there is plenty of blame to go around for why the knicks stay messy.

true this is what expectations bring. I'm just hoping to enjoy good basketball but yes we dealt with drama in the past but it was coupled with a 20 win teams and traded away 1st round picks or being f*cked in the lottery.

I'll still take this any day of the week over that ****.

The owner did a deep dive and wanted to be in exit interviews because apparently the decision was already made basically prior to the playoffs and only a magical run winning it all would have saved him.

Its a lot of money since he just signed an extension so he just wanted to hear the players out but its incorrectly being characterized as a Dolan lead decision. Dolan leaves Leon Rose to make his own decisions that was told to me.

The FO growing apart and being disconnected...and the article does clearly state that if certain players went to bat for him things may have been different and I know that as well. But it incorrectly inferred (because no where in the article says Dolan pushed for it) just he he wanted to know why the relationship deteriated between Leon/Thibs and get a sense of what the players were feeling. It was Leon/WWW led decision

The decision was already made before the playoffs to fire Thibs, by who?

I think you can infer. The FO and Thibs relationship was strained beyond repair, outside a magical run to the point they couldn't justify it to the fan base the ground was being layed.

The FO saw what many also saw. Throughout the entire 2nd half out offense went from a top 5 unit to a bottom half unit in the NBA with the way teams were defending us and no thought or adjustments were made. Thibs is thibs he has his strengths as a coach but he is also of the belief that he is the coach and he makes the decisions. There isn't collaborative effort with him regarding coaching his team. They suggested lineup changes or different ways to change but Thibs refused to change. It basically took Hart (with a **** up hand) and other members of the FO and down 0-2 in the pacers series to make a change which was obviously too late.

This is not any different info though. WWW and Dolan were part of the FO that wanted Thibs out. Rose would have kept him until Dolan and others pressured Rose to change his mind.

All the reports are basically saying if Dolan did not get involved then Thibs is still here, thats the main point

Would it shock you to believe it was more OG that was vocal about the offense than Mikal. I think we see it in preseason. OG has may more freedom in this system then he did in Thibs...he was a sit in the corner guy and OG thinks of himself way more than just a defensive 3/D defensive guy.

But I agree NY'ers mentality is already pretty toxic and self centered...thats not always a bad thing. But its that dog eat dog world east coast mentality. We respect fight and grit more than other places because of it.

Thats what we want to see out of our teams.

Winning games keeps much of the drama away, thats why it was so nice the last five years for me at least. Who knows what happens now

Dolan isn't part of the FO though. He's the owner...its his money so he needs to be in the know. But from everything I know (again chose to believe it if you want) and this is coming from thibs side. Dolan basically has zero impact on the day to day stuff. He lets Leon Run bball operations. The article clearly says throughout the year there wasn't alignment anymore between the FO and Thibs...so how does that reconcile with they were then swayed by the owner in the exit interviews? Its just a lot of money to piss down the drain. And its not like Dolan had a warm touching relationship with Thibs either....but it was more like a I'm the basketball expert you aren't just let me do my job and stay out of my business relationship.
