It’s a big gamble starting Bichette at this point. Regardless of how he looks in his recovery, we really have no idea where his swing and timing are at.
We have no choice.Bo should be good enough to DH.Hope they come to their senses ,and bat Clement behind him for both their sakes.
If we get the version of Bo Bichette that existed prior to his injury, then surely put him @DH. But he hasn't played a live game for 7 weeks and you're throwing him directly into the lion's den of the World Series where everyone is at 110% game speed. And is he even at 100% health in the first place?
Frankly, I much doubt it but even assuming he's 100% healthy, if he needs a few games to get the rust out, can we afford that luxury? Offense has not been an issue for us in these playoffs. We've gone this far with a healthy balance of offense/defense. If Bo inserted @DH, he pushes Springer to RF moving Barger to 3B and IKF, who has been playing well, is benched. Is this risk of a major shuffle to both our infield & outfield necessary?
My 2 cents is at least for the first 2 games, Bo pinch hits and we stay with the starting lineup that got us here. Then if our offense struggles (which is possible against their starters where Ohtani is their 4th pitcher!), then we promote Bo to starter to hopefully boost the offense.
