VJ was my guy in this draft. After he was off the board Egor Demin was probably the guy I wanted them to draft the most even though he was being mocked in the 10s/20s.

as much as Claxton bullied Kalk at times, the young centre position produced 23 pts, 10/13 fg, 20 rebounds and 2 blks. 4 turnover was the negative, but still a decent start by the kids

About as good a 1st game as we could've had.

Whenever Green and Grant get healthy, they'll replace Salaun and Sion in the bench rotation.

Kalk and Diabate got a combined 23pts and 20rebs.

Watching the games on delay like I usually do means I don't look at Stats until the end of the game. Last night was a interesting case between what my eyeballs were watching and what the actual stats were. I was convinced that sharp and Claxton had about 15 offensive rebounds between the two of them. It felt like that was the only way they were scoring, other than cam Thomas disgustingly baiting for fouls. I was shocked when I looked in the box score and saw that they only had three offensive rebounds between the two of them.

Meanwhile Mark and Nick looked mid in Phoenix…. I don’t think the gulf between Kalk and Mark is that much, and when you factor that Kalk is cost controlled and Mark is searching for a contract, well…

Nick shouldn't even be in the discussion.

My thoughts on the center rotation remain unchanged. This Center rotation will never be a strength for the team but I never have thought it was going to be as big of a weakness as many other people have suggested.

I don't really think the other options that were available to the Hornets would have moved the needle. Maybe there will be a day where we have the ability to draft or acquire a real Difference Maker at Center, in the meantime I think our FrankenCenter can hold up... provided Mason doesn't get thrust back into the rotation due to injuries.

As long as our key perimeter players are healthy we were never going to rely on the center for scoring outside of lobs and put backs. But kalk and moose should be a better defensive tandem than what we've had in previous seasons... except the tail end of Mark's rookie season when he actually looked like a half decent defensive center.

There will still be very difficult matchups that will certainly expose them. Some of the bigger stronger front lines will push both of them around and some of the stretch fives are clearly going to give Ryan problems.

Maluach didn't even play despite being a top 10 pick. No idea what the Suns plan is on their center rotation.

Fun game, but I would also say it was against the Nets who profile as a bottom 3 team this year.
Let's try to avoid the overreaction takes when we play a good team and things don't go our way.

How vindictive was the referees finding some BS incidental wrist contact way after the block to refuse to overrule the call.

These guys are egomaniacs.
