This is all I ever want to see out of my team.

Hope Ott is finally our long term coach.

No more lazy divas now and forever...

Everyone played well imo... no complaints.

Crowd was awesome...

Can't wait to see Jalen green...

10/10 would recommend.

Fantastic second half. Shook off the cobwebs. Mark Williams was huge. Gillespie is a dog. Brooks was one of my least favorite players, but now that he's a Sun, I like him.

Rookies typically don't really get minutes until later in the season though - unless they're top draft picks. Not surprised these guys didn't see minutes in a close game.

I wasn't impressed with a lot of the guys getting minutes in this game. Might as well let the young guys develop.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Bro you had a meltdown 20 minutes into the game and now you’re trying to gaslight
I'm not gaslighting anything. FOH with that straight nonsense. It's the FIRST DAMNED GAME. It WILL be a long season. Funny how I don't see you calling anyone else out for speaking their mind. Wonder why that is?

Make them earn it. We don't need Josh Jackson 2.0 on this team.

Yeah, we should've sat Amar'e too. Bro busted hard. Same with Joe Johnson and Shawn Marion...

You aren’t the only one who was displeased by the lack of Suns performance in their first half. So everything that was said about them was valid cause they were playing very poorly. But something clicked in the 2nd half maybe a great halftime speech by our coach ignited a fire up our azzes. Regardless, there’ll be great and bad moments. We can all speak our minds cause that’s what makes us true Suns fans.

I'm good, dude. It's those two others who don't get it. I'd rather be seen as someone acutely critical of the team than someone fawning ignorantly over one and name calling because they can't take honesty if it clashes with the narrative in their own minds. But I digress. :noway:

Played hard. Which is more than I can say for the **** of the past 2 years. Williams needs to start. Dunn needs to be on the court more. His shot has to come along but what he does on the glass and on D changes games. Gillespie was a bright spot. Can be our TJ maybe.

Book needs to be better. Statline was okay but some dumb fouls and bunnies missed and a bit unfocused / careless most the night.

Brooks was a disaster offensively. You cannot allow that to happen. He needs to have a come to jesus moment. This isn't the Dillon Brooks show. He used to be this way in Memphis but Udoka cut it down in Houston. Ott has to get him to be what he was in Houston. Green will take a lot of those shots but even if Green isn't available the 2nd option shouldn't become Brooks. He should be like our 4th or 5th option no matter who is on the court.

Haven't watched yet, but play like 2nd half the rest of the season.

We might be “ the comeback kids” as our nickname as the season progresses. Yeah yeah, it’s only been one game, but I’m certainly feeling it. :)

Pretty ugly first half but we were SCRAPPY. Where were short on talent, we scrapped, we hustled, we threw bodies around and we competed. I didn't like that we were down 20 but we really clamped down in the 2nd half allowing only 45pts and we just stayed on our game

Great second half but the Kings have a habit of letting teams back in despite holding a large lead.

We can't really expect to do the same for better teams though so the consistency needs to be there for the full 48 minutes.

Duane Rankin:
In explaining why Mark Williams came off the bench, Ott said they had minutes to use late in the game.

I don't know if that's the plan going forward but it surely worked well tonight.

Brooks is basically this season's Crowder. I'm sure he's a big part of the intensity and energy the team brought today, but also looks like he's never seen a shot opportunity he doesn't like.

Overall, I liked our team today, hopefully we can maintain this intensity.

Crowder's shot selection was impecable compared to Brooks.

How is he not called Dillon Bricks by the way? it's too obvious maybe?

I thought the team played with heart and intensity. I was surprised with Book's free throws, but we came through. I liked his interview after the game. I think his maturity level is growing and he's becoming a better leader.

I think our biggest weakness will be the inefficiency of Brooks and Green when he plays. I remember one year I had him in fantasy he shot under 40% overall, but probably because he took a lot of 3s at 32.6%. But he was 35.9% from 3 the next year and 39.7% last year.

Oso needs to finish better inside, but he did have a good play. Mark Williams looks great. I think we need Mark Johnson to get a lot of buckets, and Green to take it to the rim a lot, and if Brook's 3s are not following, he should get some easier shots before he resumes his 3s.

So we need Royce, Grayson and Book to really hit 3s well, as well as Gillespie and others. But I love the effort.

I thought Grayson looked vastly different than the past 2 years. Very aggressive. Confident.

Royce looked extra motivated on D

Brooks takes a LOT of bad shots. That could become an issue over the year but we'll see.

It was cool to see Williams grabbing boards we don't grab in the past. Seems to have good hands. He's not afraid to go after it.

Dunn was aggressive on D which was good to see.

If this game is any indication, we aren't going to give up when down big. The Kings were shooting lights out in the first half. Phoenix weathered the storm and kept pace until they were able to get back in it.

Fun win. I'll be curious to see how Green meshes with Booker.

Overall, this team has 'feel good story' written all over it. MAYBE sneak into a play-in if things break right. Then maybe take a game or 2 in the playoffs or be a serious nuisance.
Unfortunately, we aren't going to make any real noise but at least we can watch them and be proud.

---

And in the first half, I think everyone felt this one was lost. Last season left PTSD and it'll take time to get over that. Nobody should be attacking anyone here. We're different personalities. Not everyone will agree with everyone. Let people vent as needed. Ignore if it bothers you.

Booker 1-0
KD 0-1
Beal 0-1

Suns are the best team in the league and Booker is a better all-time player than KD and Beal combined.
