Re: Around the NBA 13
The Feds arrested Rozier and Chauncey Billups.
Diving headfirst into sports gambling was such an easily foreseeable mistake for the NBA...
(and for the record I'm not even for banning gambling, legalize it, but a league promoting it is another thing and has obviously conflicts of interest for players/refs/everyone).

I’m sorry but it’s hard to take the FBI seriously. They aren’t the institution they once were. They frankly look like a joke in that video

No comment. I'd like to not end up on some kind of enemy list.amcoolio wrote:I’m sorry but it’s hard to take the FBI seriously. They aren’t the institution they once were. They frankly look like a joke in that video

They're performing for the camera, as if the law and justice are a television show.

Re: Around the NBA 13
Blazers kind of get what they deserve for hiring billups in the first place after the rape allegation.
Does he get to keep coaching while this plays out in court? Did the Blazers act swiftly and and his contract? I'm guessing the Blazers front office will make some kind of comment like we did during the whole miles investigation. We're aware of the situation we're letting due process take its course yada yada yada. He keeps coaching like nothing's happening.

The good news is Terry just needs to make a sizeable Bitcoin donation to a certain someone's scam of the day and all this can magically go away.LofJ wrote:amcoolio wrote:I’m sorry but it’s hard to take the FBI seriously. Re: Around the NBA 13
While all this nonsense plays out what are everyone's thoughts on the other rookies from last night. Obviously VJ looks amazing and I have no doubt the Hornets would have selected him if he dropped to four.
Ace's agent acting like an ass clown might have been the best thing that could have happened for the Sixers organization. He is going to be a star.
I thought fears looked pretty good last night. The handle and speed and ability to get to the rim are only going to become more impressive as he adds more strength and hopefully improves that jumper. I still don't like his fit with the Hornets so I'm not sad we passed on him, but he looks much better than he did in the summer league.
Tre had a rough preseason and I'm not sure what else he can do right now other than shoot. But his jumper is as pure as it gets.
Any one of the Nets rookies really stand out for you guys last night? What about other rookies that you watched last night? Anyone catch your eye?

I'm shocked that the NBA, presented by FanDuel ®™©, that shows all the odds and betting lines every commercial break, has somehow found itself mired in betting controversy

It's incredible how corrupt our society has become in so many different areas. It's eroding social and institutional trust at a rapid pace. And that is bad news for all of us.

If Igor can be a plus perimeter shooter, he's gonna have a great career. Can't touch size, and his plus creation skills plus outside shooting would be a great combo.
I thought Saraf looked really good for a 19 year old drafted at 26.

Re: Around the NBA 13
Sadly every Institution at every level and every corporation at every level has two goals in mind and that is to make as much money as possible in a short amount of time, consequences be damned and to gobble up as much power/influence as possible, consequences be damned. All the guardrails that would normally prevent abuse across political systems and corporations have been systemically removed at an alarming rate. Capitalism at its worst. Gobble up power and money and the rest of the country gets f*****. But as long as we have news and social media algorithms (owned by same people who are **** us,) to tell us to be angry at the little stupid things or fighting dumb class wars, then we're too distracted to see the big picture. Why be angry at unchecked capitalism when I can direct my anger towards something or someone the same institutions have told me to hate..

I am pretty shocked how quickly Philly is giving him the keys to the team. Dude took 13 threes, 26 shots last night.

Wemby is probably going to establish himself as the best player in the world this year.
The stuff he was doing last night doesn't make any sense for a guy that size. I truly believe he was created in a lab.

The NBA screwed us from a LaMelo/Wemby duo. We would be so damn popular right now with those 2 sharing the court together smh

Thinking about the last draft lottery for no particular reason.

Gambling business billionaires with ties to China buys the Mavericks, their business ties to China helps gets the league back in the good graces of the CCP, they then trade their star player to the Lakers who are later sold for a record price, and then they magically get rewarded with the best college basketball player of the last 5 years. All of this is just pure coincidence, surely.
