Oh I haven't stopped laughing. I have not.

Well, that's one way to get rid of the last curse of Olshey on this franchise.

Somehow I´m not at all surprised. I´ve never gotten good vibes from Billups.

Does Bjorkgren take over the lead chair? He did well last time. I'd be happy with Splitter too.

Mr LA Olshey knows how to give everything a little theatrics.

I have to imagine it’s Bjorkgren. Seeing Splitter step in there might be interesting curve ball.

Playing poker gets you arrested? Mafia poker games? Mafia was mostly dismantled by RICO.

The Sopranos depicted poker games where mobsters provided drugs, booze and women to high rollers, to rip them off.

Unless Billups actually tried to alter the outcomes of games he coached why is this a federal investigation? Kash Patel is the last cop who should be trusted.

This is from an administration which claims every immigrant is MS13 or Tren de Agua and using minor things like traffic citations to deport people.

Of course Trump wants to send troops to all cities which voted for his opponent over him.

Is he heading out way earlier than anyone could expect?

Probably. Id imagine he wont get much money out of it either

Yeahhhhhhh… there’s going to be some very obvious clauses that will make his contract voided.

You simply can’t bring back Billups at this point. Even if this is overblown and Patel being incompetent, just the black eye this is at such a critical juncture… you gotta move on. Pick a HC from the staff for interim this season, maybe you don’t have to make a big PR thing out of it, just try and let the fact he’s been let go slide under the rug and then if the interim choice goes smooth, roll with that, otherwise do a coaching search this summer with Dundon.

I have to also imagine this has increased the likelihood that Dundon just wants to fully clean house on this thing - even just to try and wash his hands of this episode for the franchise and prove this is a new era.

Just an incredibly selfish move by Billups. I dont really lean morally on this, but what is illegal is illegal and his actions have painted this franchise and city in a poor light. I also would not be surprised if the Trump admin put their finger on the scales here to make Portland look bad - but actions have consequences. He has to be gone.

What a silly ass way to start the season. Billups always struck me as a really low intelligence guy. Not necessarily a bad guy, just not a bright guy either.

Bjorkgren will be coach and Tiago should get leaned on a ton. I really hope this doesnt nuke the defensive identity and effort. I expect this to lead to some rough times ahead as its a HUGE freaking distraction - the guys for all Billups faults seem to really like him. Seeing him go in this way is going to impact the product on the court.

Link to first part of presser below.

Two seperate investigations but with overlapping people involved. One for fixing NBA games. The other for fixing illegal poker games. With a very broad range of charges.

Billups was named in the illegal gambling charges. However. Blazers also mentioned in fixung games, but no names given.

There is more to this story.

Sorry for any mistakes, eyesight bad today.

I hope it's an interim coach and it probably will be. Dundon should be the one to choose the hc

Neither can he.

She also hasn’t been accused of greasy behavior.

He is going to have to step away from the team until this is all resolved.

Presumably Bjorkgren will be the acting HC for the foreseeable future

Where did he find the time to do this? The regular NBA season is 6 months. Are there some off-season duties like the draft or free agency?

Every free moment he was rigging poker games?

Id bring him back in a heartbeat. The team could use some offensive direction now. Need to keep the defense up though.
