speaking of that...its just not the addition of Mike Brown to the coaching staff.

Having Jent and O'Connor as adds are great additions. Remember Rick Brunson was Thibs right hand guy...and now Rick has a much reduced role. It basically was Thibs ship now we go some offensive and defensive coordinators...so I feel we might have some new wrinkles from game to game.

Jalen Brunson will always execute what the coach wants to the best of his ability. That's why ascribing his play style to personal selfishness was always silly. Thibs wanted him to isolate to reduce turnovers (and because he's one of the best ISO scorers on Earth).

Brown wants something different, so Jalen will do something different.

Yep. His iso ability will always be there and it'll still be needed, and seriously, as a fan, it's fun to watch. There have been lots of great moments this past year with that. It's just that we won't need to rely on it so much, and other dudes can step up and earn their paychecks too.

Exactly!

It won't to be all or nothing reliance on Brunson bailing us out with the iso. If the situation calls for it or Brun is really feeling it that night, great. Otherwise team ball and create the best easy scoring opportunity.

On paper we should be able to demolish Boston. But if you recall game 5 last year they can still get hot from 3 and torch us even with no Tatum. But they lost a lot of their other guys. KP. Horford. Luke Kornet beasted on us and he’s gone. Jrue gone. Our wings should make it tough for Brown but just gotta lock up on the perimeter they’re going to bomb 3s all game probably

Indiana and OKC both had deep benches that they played often to keep their starters fresh throughout the playoffs.

It’s nice to see the Brown doing this. Not just to keep their starters from wearing out, but to build chemistry via reps during the regular season.

I was stunned when Kolek and Jemison came in. Brown has a vision and I wanna see it come to fruition

Agreed. To be fair the bench is much better this season

the bench apparently stinks though...and to be fair we added yabu/clarkson and they aren't that special. But bench play is about opportunity and confidence...if you go games without playing or get yanked after one mistake its hard to have any confidence...its important to have a coach that has confidence in you.

Basketball is very physical but its also so mental as well. Knowing you will get consistent playing time has to make player play more free and easy not looking over there shoulder if the few chances they get in they better perform or the coach is going right back to the starters.

Facts. Consistency and clearly established roles mean a lot to the overall success of a locker room

Yeah but that's fully healthy. We used deep bench guys and won.

We could really use a 3&d wing with size off the bench.

Been hoping that 3pac or even Mo can be that guy.

Mo can't really shoot that well yet.

Dadiet, of course, is hopeless. :D

While my optimism is waning I haven't completely given up on 3pac.

He is still pretty young and French so there is hope even though he hasn't done much to beat the Knox allegations.

Young and French isn’t Knox.
Young + French = Franklikina

His game or lack thereof resembles knox.

The other day buzz hit him with the frox(French knox) nickname and 3pac proceeded to suck in the preseason to my disappointment.

that was so smoooth. with the left hand aswell.

the cross pass into the corner was sick aswell tho. we rarely saw stuff like this last year and just further proves his passing ability and vision, these passes are dangerous and hard but they move the defense so well.

If he gets comfy with this offense and can crack the rotation we are gonna get some sweet sweet eye candy from him this year, i cant wait. i love passers like this, they legit see the play developing 1-2 seconds before everybody else
im bout dat action boss

Man Og was really playing defensive back. I think we legit may have a breakout star in OG. He has been flashing his game even under Thibs. I’m very excited.

It's good to have a change of pace 5 like that.

Mitch, Huk and Jamison are decent in different ways and are 18 available fouls after KAT picks up his 5th every night.

Great –– this means we won’t have to re-up Kyle O’Quinn!

I loved all offseason how the local media was trying to throw shade on Brown's pace and space philosophy, like:

"Oh Brunson is gonna have the ball in his hands less, he won't be effective"

And all of that got blown up in one night.

What we saw last night was good basketball

Brown has been compared unfavorably by some to Fiz because one game he didn’t call any plays, but he’s really quite different. He doesn’t say a lot about why he’s doing something, but he gets them to execute. They really looked better than a bunch of people here predicted they would.
