Game 2: Bucks at Rangers - 10/24/25 - 5:30 pm - FDSWI

Post#1 » by MickeyDavis » Thu Oct 23, 2025 11:13 am

The time has been moved earlier since World Series game 1 will be Friday night right down the road.

Raptors looked good in whipping the Hawks on the road Wednesday night. This is their home opener.

No KPJ.

As usual please keep all posts in this thread on this game only. Thanks.

Raptors nearly scored 140 with only 6 made 3's. Should be a good test for the interior defense.

So when are we getting the MRI results on KPJ's ankle? From what Doc said it sounds like it will be at least 2 weeks and could be 4 weeks (moderate sprain) and worst case would be 4 - 8 weeks (severe sprain, ligament tears etc.) Really unfortunate but I think it happening now is much better than later in the year. I fee like our team is deep enough to stay afloat until he returns. Get well soon King Porter Jr.!

Not to mention the training staff doesn't release any information and is extremely cautious with injuries. We will be hearing Doc say KPJ is "close" probably starting this weekend until he suits up again in 2 months.

If kpj were more established i wouldn't worry as much but he just got some traction and some consistency and he really needed a full season to put it all together and take a step up. Now its gonna be back to square one. Hopefully he still has plenty of time to gel w the team before the playoffs.

Not gonna lie, him not playing for a while really makes me less excited to watch the games.

Plus have to admit its very strange seeing a left hsnded shooter.Im a lefty myself but watching him shoot differently than 95% of the other guys is so strange.Still was impressed with his 9 mins last night

I think cole is more than established enough to replace porter while hes out

Cole is fully capable of getting hot for a stretch and helping carry things while kpj is healing. But he's just never going to be consistent enough to be a long-term answer in a starting role.

Hopefully Ryan Rollins takes this opportunity and runs with it. I just trust his shooting and defense way more than Anthony. But I still think this will also be good for Anthony in terms of allowing him to create some moments with new teammates and really forge a bond

We don't know if any of these backcourt guys are a "long term answer" so while I won't call the KPJ injury a blessing in disguise, it definitely allows us to experiment with different lineups and see what we have in some of these dudes. Wouldn't even hate seeing some Mark Sears minutes outside of garbage time here and there.

Truly gonna find out how much worse Scottie Barnes made himself this offseason to make his teammates better.
