Interesting perspective on VJ. Irrationally confident? I like it

Of course I want to see if this jumper is consistent, but the 1 tangible improvement i think he can improve on fast... But hasn't yet.... Is that he picks up his dribble possible 1 dribble too early when driving. I say that when his handles looked solid strong enough to get where he wants to get to on the floor from a general perspective. Not necessarily iso handles yet.

Pelicans beating the Spurs with Fears and Queen closing it out would give me life.

Very early, but could this draft class just have been stacked?

I had the same thought. I think they're going to regret this pick. MAYBE if you don't extend Fox with the max contract (which I also disagree with BTW, he's not a max player in my book) you draft him. I think the right move was to trade back and get Ace or Kon to complement their core players. Or of course VJ who would supercede any one of their shooting guards or wings almost immediately

They made the trade for, and promised the max extension to, Fox long before they had any idea they would be in a position to draft Dylan Harper.

At least one of those guards will get traded by next summer, barring some unexpected jump in shooting by two out of the three. Wemby is him and their window is already open.

Finally a draft lived up to the “next years draft…” hype.

Won’t be shocked if it turns out to be the best since 2003.

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards

If Mavs offers Cooper Flagg for VJ will you take it?

Yes.

4 games is not enough of a sample size to bridge that gap, and Flagg is a position of higher need.

If Flagg learns to run the offense like a true guard, something Kidd is pushing him to do, even though it’s currently tanking their offense, he has the potential to become a top 5 player in the league.

He came in with that potential. His hype wasn't on the level of Wemby, but this was not a year where there was any debate about number 1. And he played competently against NBA all stars as a high school player. We haven't seen this sort of young success since Luka.

Nobody is predicting GOAT (like Wemby) but eventual top 5 is pretty much expected for him.

Biggest expectations since LeBron:

1. Wemby
2. Zion
3. Flagg

Obviously it's not a given... See Zion.

Supposed to just draft this Quentin Grimes replacement, but we decided we want Michael Jordan
