You been flexing a lot this offseason. I like it. Talk your schit! But it’s gonna be your tallest task this time around.

All season present different challenges.

First chip beat a 70 win POR team just to get to finals (that team had Jokic, Curry, Mikal Bridges, MPJ, DeAndre Hunter, and Haluburton off the bench and had a tough series vs POR). That team Smash had with prime KD, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Jarrett Allen was tough as hell. Then had to go through a really really good Cavs team (going for a b2b).

This past year had to beat a 70 win DET team.

The east especially is probably as deepest as its ever been so should be fun. Couple new comers potentially in the west as well. But I also think I may be the deepest I've ever been so should be a fun year.

But PDX is not exactly mourning that he'll be out as coach and replaced by Splitter. This could be a blessing in disguise for the team.

Ignoring the poker stuff, what did you not like about him as a coach? From the outside, it seemed like he was doing a solid job imo. Last year he turned Portland into a really good defensive team and I heard he’s an awesome mentor for the young players. They looked really good against Minny too. But maybe im missing something here, since I don’t live in Portland

I've barely watched them due to the LP blackouts and the Knicks being good. I'm just the messenger on the sentiment here. I was impressed with how they played us last year at Moda. I think he's a Thibs type.

For me, there are now a few personal strikes against him that I can't support.

Always appreciate the insight. I feel like I'd be shellshocked if I were a Trailblazer...that's crazy, and it's a shame because I feel like their team is on the upswing. Hope Splitter is good.

Victor Wembanyama 'Relishing Playing Bully Ball'

Victor Wembanyama appears to be stronger and playing with more force during the preseason and to start the regular season. Wembanyama had 40 points in the San Antonio Spurs' regular season opening win over the Dallas Mavericks.

"He's relishing playing bully ball," said one team source to ESPN.

Wembanyama averaged 8.8 three-point attempts per game last season, which was almost half of his total shot attempts. Wembanyama attempted just 40 percent of his shots in the paint, but that number increased to 75 percent in the preseason. In the game against the Mavericks, Wembanyama attempted just two three-pointers, which is the fewest he's shot since his rookie season. Wembanyama also attempted 11 free throws against the Mavericks.

"He's clearly gotten bigger, stronger, more aggressive, playing with more force," a Western Conference scout said. "And he's going to take over the whole f---ing league if he stays healthy."

This is a good question, although it’s not something any of us ever want to ponder or think about.

Maybe bish or a mod can respond regarding whether or not any type of contingency or succession plan exists.

Wemby’s start to the season just has me in awe, man. Talk about a man on a mission. He trained his ass off this offseason and it’s paying immediate dividends. If he keep it up with the type of efficiency he’s shown through the first 2 games then it’s over.

Fire sale! The Celtics are looking to clear a roster spot and Grant Williams can be had for free. Heck, take a 2nd round pick (or 2?) or a 2026 1st (SA) (depending on the deal) along with him, and/or throw us a cheap guy you don't want anymore (who will probably just head straight to the waiver wire).

Williams is a solid 3&D guy (career 38% from 3) and can definitely provide good minutes for a contending team.

Also, these rookies are available for future draft capital (and maybe exempt money and/or a cheap guy you won't miss). I'm super high on both of them, but am still looking to clear a roster spot. Let me know if you're interested.
