He did most of his beating on Scottie lol. Him and Poeltl just couldn’t do anything to slow him down.

I mean, it's game 2. Giannis is nasty. Our guys have some flaws. It is what it is. We're going to have many ups and downs this year because we aren't a dominant team, after all.

So we'll chalk this down as an L and move on, see what happens in the next one.

Poeltl has been horrendous. Looks very weak out there and is fouling way too much. Usually he's like a stonewall but he's been a pylon these first two games.

Bucks played their A game we played our C game still came down to the wire, gonna take some time to figure the role definition and CMB is much needed ... Darko needs to be better as well, this over aggressive ball pressure needs to die soon

a healthy hawks and bucks are projected to be 3-8 in the east and we're right there with them which is pretty much where we should be at

It looks like he abused our second unit. This is where CMB would be great. I kind of blame IQ here. Just shoot more threes man, even if they are bricks its worth taking and just improving on. The same kind of goes for Gradey, we need to get him open looks.

Poeltl, IQ, and Barnes lost us this game.

Poeltl is getting older and slower we might need to sell on him soon and grab another C. I would want someone like Missi, who I feel provides similar value but has youth on his side. We definitely aren't winning the championship this year but I do feel like we could build towards one.

IQ needs to shoot 12-15 3s a game. I don't care if it involves JR Smith degree chucking but on a per 36 minute basis it needs to happen. We need that volume because it's statistically and scientifically important.

Barnes could have scored better, he hit a decent amount of threes today. He should stick with Giannis more aggresively and give him 'mid' contests on 3pt looks on Giannis. By that I mean go under screens instead of switching and make sure he isn't the one that's scoring.

This was a good game. We will build on it, I think Scottie will be better than this on most nights.

Horrible game. Ingram has no positive impact on the game, just a scorer with no impact. Barrett still can't shoot free throws.

IQ and Scottie were far, far, far worse. If anything we didn't go to Ingram enough down the wire; IQ and Scottie were bricking freethrows, blowing bunnies and throwing the ball away.

If you offered me 1-1 in these two games to open the season I’d probably have taken it.

The ball should go through Ingram in the 4th. He was heating up and they practically ignored him in crunch time

Giannis is a C btw, a C that wants to attack incessantly, Jakob should be guarding and saging off. Scottie should've gotten Turner.

This game gave me Schroeder-Pascal-under-this-system"VIBE" with Schroeder looking like the number one option. BI was headed for 40 easily.
F@k Quick, just pass it to BI!!!

Injured or not, this is the 3rd consecutive year that Poeltl is not in shape to start the season. Kind of frustrating when you see that every other Raptor is jacked (relative to their size) and ready to go. I would love for someone to ask him about his training regimen in the offseason. I am genuinely curious as to what he does (or does not do).

I felt they should have went through BI more down the stretch.
I hope our FT shooting doesn't end up near the bottom again this season.
Barnes is such a frustrating player to watch, thank goodness for having BI this year.

The positive is that we were in it until the end, and that should be the case for most games against other East teams that are not CLE and NYK. There are going to be many nights like this.

Their roster is trash on paper but we do not know what it's like to have a top player of all time on the roster. Collectively our roster won't end up with 1/10th of the awards and accolades that Giannis already has lol. As long as guys like Green and GTJ can hit their 3s, he will drag them to another 50+ season. Aesthetically I don't enjoy watching him play, but man, that guy never takes a night off. Immense respect for him in that regard.

I get we're still in finger pointing mode but how about RJ Barrett? He's arguably been their best player in both games.

Poeltl always comes into the season out of shape. Usually takes him 10-15 games before his conditioning starts to come around.

So I agree that both Poelt and Scottie were worse than Ingram last night, but as for throwing the ball away, Ingram has lead the team in TO's in both games. He has more TO's than assists so far this season.

If you want to look at it from the bright side, so many of our key players were not all that impressive and it was still a close game.

We had no back line help and gave up too many blow bys. Shead was completely ineffective guarding the ball. That's his job.

Scottie was pretty lazy on offense, but he did an admirable job on Giannis. I dunno, the shot selection was really concerning for a team that intends to win. You can get away with a couple of those, but there were about 6 wtf shots there in a close game.

I saw how the offense was looking and turned it off before the second quarter.

They still can't generate good shots, even with a shot creator in Ingram.

Ingram is trying out there defensively but gets lost on rotations, probably will get cleaned up with more reps.

I’m confused on the “blown layup” thing I’ve seen multiple times.

I don’t know what people expect from guys but IQs finishing has been good lol

But the "not a real point guard" people are gonna do their thing.

Scottie’s role last night was to guard Giannis. They basically matched minutes. Milwaukee dominated Giannis minutes and therefore Scottie is a minus.

Disappointed with the close of the game. I thought it was the strongest IQ’s looked, for 3 quarters and it felt like he got into a rhythm that late wasn’t there. I still think all players are playing hard and playing for each other. I think they are able to adjust, but Darko isn’t and it cost us this game. I think Poeltl is hurt more than they’ve been willing to admit - he looks slow.

IQ is trying his best, but imo, his best role for us is as a 2 or combo scoring guard - but it dilutes Scottie’s bully ball and play making and takes the ball away from BI, dilutes what RJ does, takes away his catch and shoot and exposes his lacking of finishing.

IMO, this team needs to look immediately worthy to invest in to win a ring, or it will be stifled or torn down before it ever gets off the ground. We don’t have much room for error. Darko is in the clock, but at the same time he still has not been given a roster that’ s not in some ways tying a hand behind his back by lacking front court depth, the talent to match the gameplan, and having no tru starting pg and a glut of talent in the wing.
