I went through all of Horst drafts and it is pretty mild since we didn't have many picks. There were like six realistic options better than Wilson; DDV was the best at his slot, maybe Payton Watson over Marjon and then George over AJJ

So would many of the other teams who passed on him.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Genuinely don't know how any Mavs fan willingly pays money to go watch them play. Between a more in shape Luka coming out the gate firing this season and a clearly declining AD only kinda trying, I would go insane even thinking about the NBA. It's like if the Bucks in 2019-20 traded a 25 year old Giannis for 31 year old Harden right as he started declining. I'd be done with basketball.

So would many of the other teams who passed on him.

So would the teams who didn't trade for Middleton and him at the deadline.

His drafting through his entire tenure has been deplorable, he’s saved his job from the relationship with Giannis ans getting guys to come play here on bargain and to boost their value from playing with GA

Eh he would have to be batting 100% in the late twenties to add Watson and George to this roster. I agree he is in the bottom quartile of gm drafters but I don't know many that would realistically be 4 for 4 in the back half of the draft where success rate is like 20%.

The league called in Windhorst and threatened him to shut up. His walk back word salad today made no sense and was nervous garbage.

Shame the NBA can control ESPN reporters like that.

He’s been pretty good with the second round picks that were actual players and not favors to Giannis and his agent. Merrill and Mamu have both carved out roles in the league. Nwora hung around a decent amount of time. DDV was looking like a hit here in the first until he got hurt during the Finals run, that was a good pick.

Wonder if we’ll ever get the true story about the Luka trade. Still doesn’t make sense you’d ever trade a guy like that.

Geez, when Luka can just have the ball and role players that do what he needs he's ridiculous too.. similar to Giannis but he does his damage from further from the rim.

Nm I figured it out. Kyshawn George looks great. Like what we wish Bobby still was or Nwora could have been.

He's nothing like either player. George is a point forward. A few of us, including Emunney, loved him in the draft, even though we knew he wouldn't be ready as a rookie.

I’m assuming he pivoted to Giannis asking out or whatever he ate at Ponderosa last night.

Wemby blowing up (with the Spurs maybe being good) and the gambling scandal gives us two stories to fly under the radar. Giannis probably doesn’t want his achievements go unnoticed, but not a bad thing for this team to develop.

One thing to add about Middleton, its obviously very early but I'm not sure there are 5 teams that I think will definitely be better than Washington. I'm not sure the Wizards don't hold onto him because they think they can compete for a play-in spot.

We've tried to accomplish every goal at once in the draft to predictable results. We seem to keep trying to recreate the Giannis pick. The older more ready guys like Brogdon, DDV, and Merrill have been solid picks, and the speculative projects in the back half have been big misses.

If the Bucks go 2-1 over the next 3 (tough but doable), the schedule sets up for them to have a really nice start. If the Bucks are 7-3 or 8-2, I guarantee that we will either have or will have had a round of "Are the Bucks a sleeper team in the East" stories/talking head segment from the national media.

We’ll go 8-2 and have a Shams tweet about the Bucks selling out the future to win with Giannis for one more season.

Yeah, the only good picks of the Horst era have been established guys. As has been pointed out, his past drafts havent been ideal but its not like there were a plethora of clear legit players after our picks. That said, that 24 draft is looking pretty, pretty bad.

George, Shannon, Dunn, Furphy, Jaylen Wells, Ajay Mitchell…. oof
