They are a good team, but so are the Jays. However, looking at the Phillies series, I thought Philly choked that series away to be honest. Phillies blew out the Dodgers in one game, and lost three other close ones by being chokers (their hitters and relievers). The Brewers to me are an overrated team like the Detroit Tigers (who should have faced the Jays in the last series, but their hitters melted down in the last game against the Mariners).

The Jays were going to be the toughest team the Dodgers faced all year, but obviously the American media was going to say "Dodgers Sweep". The Dodgers lineup is comparable to the Yankees. I thought the Jays had it in them to make the pitchers work, like they did with Rodon, Fried, Gilbert, Castillo, etc. Only one game, but the bottom line is like I said three days ago- "The Jays in 6 since we live in the Six, because they are a team of destiny with the Hand of God on them".

You're right Phillies choked, I thought they were the best team in the majors.

You can thank their manager Rob Thomson also, with the most idiotic decision I have seen in years (worse than John Schneider bringing out Little in Game 5 in a 1 run lead, to face Raleigh and Polanco who hit better right handed). Moron Thomson cost them Game 2, by instructing Bryston Stott (a contact guy and not a great bunter) to bunt with a runner on Second, no outs in the bottom of the 9th.

The runner was then thrown out of third base with the poor bunt. The Phillies big hitters did not deliver, and they lost the final game with the pitcher melting down and making the wrong play. After they got Duran, I did think it was the Phillies year, but their hitters and relievers choked big time against the Dodgers.

Luckily for the Jays the Dodgers are missing two of their better relievers this World Series. Tanner Scott is injured and not healthy, and Vesia for personal reasons having to do with his wife.

Pretty sure Tanner Scott has been terrible this season.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Lmao, Jays had as many hits in one game as the trash can Brewers did in the entire NLCS.

Tanner Scott = 18 mill AAV
Alex Vesia = 2.3 million in 2023

Total salary missing from Dodgers lineup = 20.3 mill

Jose Berrios = 18.7 mill AAV
Anthony Santander = 18.5 mill AAV

Total salary missing from Blue Jays lineup = 37.2 mill

Salaries missing are irrelevant. Performance is what counts, when you have guys like Clement, Lukes, and Barger making peanuts of what these guys are making.

Tanner Scott and Vesia were the better high leverage bullpen options for LA. They are a big loss for them. Santander has been injured and sucked all year, along with Berrios. No comparison, regardless of how much those guys make.

I'm listening to Dodger Talk call in show and the host is upset that the Mariners didn't send in Munoz to face Springer and here we are. Lol.

Yea saw that a bunch last night. Not surprised. Dodgers rotation would've steamrolled the Mariners offense. Mariners pitching is good, but it would've still given up 3-4 runs a game to the Dodgers offence and that would've been enough for Dodgers to win.

Tanner Scott was actually atrocious this year. I think all the teams in the league would love to see Tanner Scott in high leverage situations.

Vesia is a good bullpen arm though. But would much rather not have Vesia and Scott than have Bichette at 60%. Dodgers are sitting pretty in terms of health as far as I know.

Scott was great in April and June before struggling over a few outings in July and August. However, he had turned the corner and earned the manager's trust again after the first week of September or so, and started pitching well again in high leverage. He would have been named on the roster if he was healthy.

Vesia and Scott would have pitched again in high leverage again for the World Series. Berrios and Santander were non-factors all year, and pretty much terrible. The team did great without them playing. Hard to compare the loss of Vesia and Scott for the Dodgers, to bums like Santander and Berrios. Hopefully 2026 is a better year for both of them.

Not one regular (other than Vaughns fraud season) has an OPS over .800. They got on a decent amount have like by far the most base running value in the bigs. Definition of a fraud team, embarrassing we were even compared to them lol
