I don't care how amazingly talented he looks, Wemby has to actually prove something before we're claiming he's going to be a top 5 player ever.

If he's fully healthy for the next 15 years, which means he doesn't deteriorate much with age. Then yeah it's Joker the GOAT.
Probably gives us 15 30+ PER seasons across his career.
You think Jokic will play until he is 45 rather than retiring to be with his ponies back home?

Hakeem, Shaq, Magic, Curry, Giannis are the top five from this list so far in whatever order you want.
Wemby could surpass some or all of them if he continues to grow.

Magic unless they can surpass 5x nba champ, 3x finals mvp, and 3x league mvp. Plus he is the greatest point guard to ever play. Lets wait for Wemby to make the playoffs before we give him his flowers.

I doubt any of the listed players are going to surpass Magic in terms of impact AND accolades. Seems like people underestimate just how hard it is to become a top 5 all times players because they've seen LeBron do it.

Lol i was just gonna say that. Jokic is pushing 31. I doubt he makes it longer than VC.

Those 8 who voted and all the following ones who will vote for Giannis......no disrespect to him as he is a great player and one of the best of his generation but come on...

Wembanyama has a lot of factors in his favor: the traits that make him standout are very easy to see and he's younger than the others so he'll probably be fresher in the minds of people. The question is if he makes an all-time list but once he's on it he's probably going to rank high.
Magic will probably rank high too even if he doesn't deserve it. People in the future are likely to see 5 rings and think that makes him clearly better than Bird. In this case people not being personally familiar with what happened will help Magic.
Curry will probably rank higher too. The generation he influenced will constitute a larger part of the population and be in their prime influencing society. The old school detractors meanwhile will probably be a smaller part of the population.

Wemby has a shot but has two win multiple MVP's & Titles. This list is basically saying who will be a top four or five player all time.
I'd say it's still likely Magic is a head of Wemby as Magic along with Bird saved the NBA and that alone pretty much had both LOCKS forever in the top ten and then when you add what he did on the court very hard to nearly impossible to top.
Think it's more likely that if healthy and Wemby gets a title or two he'll be viewed as a top 20 to 15 player all time which still would be one hell of a career and living up to the hype.

Magic Johnson. Very unlikely Joker gets to five rings, let alone half that. The Spurs are unlikely to be that successful as well, even with a talent like Wemby. Magic gets bonus points for his timing, his charisma, being part of Team USA, and having perhaps the greatest playoff game of all-time as a rookie.

To choose anyone other than Bird or Magic means you think the other guys will be Top 6 all time. I just can’t see it happening with Jokic or Wemby unless they get multiple rings

Depends how many of them team up on the Lakers.
I could easily see SGA/Wemby/Luka and Jokic playing for Lakers for most of the 2030s.
