I mean is it possible he was rigging this game? Sure. But have the people who thought he was tanking this game given consideration that Rozier is a really bad player? Also, why did Spo keep him in there if he was playing so bad?
From everything I've read Terry effed up once and was immediately brought in by the NBA and they shut him down. According to windhorst. He knew he was being investigated further by the FBI, confirmed from all the comments by his lawyer recently and tidbits we'd hear all of last year. All the clips of him playing poorly is cuz he was mentally cooked and stressed by knowing he was being investigated and it showed up on the court. People dragging him thru the mud and posting these clips cuz it gets clicks. Its baseless. I actually feel bad for Terry. He messed up. He should've been punished by the league. And then moved on. Instead nba tried glossing it over, allowed tbe Heat to trade for him and neither the league nor Charlotte disclosed this to Miami, and now the FBI unsurprisingly dropping all of this as this nba season starts cuz ya know this admin wants as many gold stars and pats on the head and attention as possible.
Now its a clusterfck.
I do not believe its the league fault. They likely couldnt prove anything. From the FBI presser, the people who got Rozier to help them win the bets drove all the way from up north to Rozier house and gave him cash. There was no way the NBA could of traced that if it was done properly. The pattern could be seen but likely not enough to hand down punishment. A lot of the current evidence may only been able to be reveal if someone connected got arrested for something else and then took a plea deal. That is out of the NBA reach.
But they at least had suspicion and did not disclose this information to the heat. The NBA finalizes all trades. They were aware of the potential liability & did not disclose the suspicion that would likely have deterred the heat from pulling the trigger on the trade.
