People are skeptical the Spurs will be good enough for Wemby to win MVP.

Skeptical or not - wemby is the best defensive player and a top 5 offensive guy - it’s kinda a wrap -

Jokic best offensive guy by a mile but wemby is best defensive by a solar system.

It’s still a 5 man race - Luka, wemby, jokic, Giannis and SGA but so far it’s wemby threw 2 lol

Good god I missed you guys and these stupid debates

If Wemby is genuinely the best player in the league this season then his chances of winning MVP will be pretty good yeah

jokic got 56 pts from gordon and is playing with a healthy murray and still can't pull out a win. no way he's better than sga.

1. SGA

2. WEMBY

3. CEDRIC COWARD

I'd pay to watch that G league team with Hartenstein, Dort, Cason Wallace and Aaron Wiggins.

What is it exactly that makes it clear that he’s the best?

Now we have the Big Three I expected in WS/48 before the season:
1 Victor Wembanyama
2 Luka Doncic
3 Cedric Coward

This MVP race might be an all timer honestly, literally everyone of the Top 5 except Jokic has started out on fire, and you know Jokic will get better as he gets... hopefully less fat.

If Chet can play more like this SGA is going to get a lot of extra wins in the win column on some of the other guys, once again. That last game makes you wonder if he is an Most Improved Player candidate, but then he stinks it up like the Pacers game and you get confused.

Shai is 17-24, 70.8 %, from 10-16 feet, guarded by top 5 DPOY candidates for 2 of the games in Amen Thompson and Dyson Daniels and with a very high usage.

Luka is 11-11 from 10-16 feet. And both have not yet hit their best averages on 3pt %, so there is more to come...

nice catch. nembhardt is another stud defender. pretty much a murderer's row sga went through.

through first three games i don't see anyone playing at wembenyama's level currently in the nba so i think he should be the front runner of the race.

but the season has 82 games and i don't see any team better positioned for a stronger post asg run than okc. pretty much like last season, they'll give tons of opportunities to inexperienced guys that aren't #1 seed level, tons of conservative medical restrictions and injuries... i bet they'll finish the regular season even stronger than 2024-25.

i think they should be the two man front. sparky stat lines will keep luka doncic afloat but i don't see him edging wembenyama.

This is by far my favorite thread on RealGM… because it’s the most ridiculous and the one that’s also complete true or false depending on the day.

After 2 games it’s clearly Wemby-

After 2 more it could get Giannis-

In a month it’s probably gonna be Luka or Ant Man or Wemby because of a outlandish video game play in a game with a wilt stat line…

And by the end it’s probably gonna come down to Jokic or SGA based on advanced stats that Jokic normally runs away with or Great Stats coupled with outrageous Winning statistics and the right leadership characteristics and aura from SGA

The fattest dark horse is a healthy Zion…

Luka has too many players that should be better around him, LAs spotlight and everyone’s favorite coach working against him. Everything Luka does gets overshadowed by stuff out of his control.

If not for the wemby storyline being the NBAs best storyline I would have Luka higher(it doesn’t matter if wemby is deserving the nba marketing department is pulling for wemby)

I don’t think Luka is as good a defender as SGA in reality but the advanced stats so far say they the same guy…
