Luka in 2 games 92, all our starters 142.

Yup. Amazing how much one man (Nico) can screw up in such a short time.

What is Donnie Nelson doing these days?
I'd love to have him back now.

Some seem to be making a big deal out of Nico talking to Rich Paul after the Mavs/Spurs game this past week. If they’re working out a trade which one of his clients make the most sense?

Normal.GM/top agent stuff, wouldn't attribute anything to it.

If NY were willling, I'd do a KAT for AD swap. Healthy and in-shape AD is better but KAT would provide tremendous spacing for Flagg to work with. AD is an abysmal and unwilling shooter that will and already is hindering Flagg's development.

Oh well... I forgot that we have Martin.

Nico Harrison can't survive to this season. The pressure on him is absurd. He is done.

We can't even talk about trading AD until Nico is here. That's why him being fired is far the most important thing for Mavs.

PJ should be untouchable. He's been their best player so far if you account both offense and defense. He's an excellent 3&D player.

If you do decide to blow it up then Gafford, AD, Hardy, Exum, Naji, DLo, Klay maybe even Kyrie, those are the first you focus on getting rid. Then you also have fillers like Powell and Martin.

Basically 80% of the roster are tradeable assets. Some are fillers while most obviously hold some value. The real question is, who would you want to keep and in what type of scenario. Just get rid of AD and hopefully upgrade the roster in the process? Or like i said, blow it up and start fresh around Flagg?

HMFFL wrote:Max Christie may get overlooked. I prefer him to get more shot attempts. I hope Kidd gets him more involved.

Have you noticed how many times Klay got himself open? Dude is doing cardio while the rest of the team is mostly ignoring him. Granted he wasn't great so far but hoping that anyone will create offense and find open guys is an illusion at this point.

I’m just trying to get an idea of what everyone here would do. Sounds like there are really only two options from your point of view. Do nothing or completely blow it up.

So you don’t think AD has much value? You don’t think he would have value to a team like the Spurs (next to Wemby)? What about the Knicks (replacement for KAT, with KAT going to a 3rd team)? Seems to me there is at least 1 or 2 teams that would love to add AD.

Explain to me how can Nico trade AD half a year after he traded superstar for him, talked about D wins championships, talked about how AD will change Mavs culture?

But let's say Nico is fired, you don't need players like KAT for AD you primarily want FRPs to build a roster around Flagg. KAT won't help you much, Mavs is not winning anything with KAT or AD. Flagg is not rookie capable of winning now and you need diametrically opposed players to players who were built around Luka.

AD and Martin together have scored less than half of Grimes points. Add Christie in and they are very close.

I think Grimes will tell a lot of stuffs about Doncic trade in the future, he clearly was traded for something about that.

The only reason I think Nico would agree to trade AD is if his job depended on it. If they keep losing the way they have been that will put the pressure on Nico.

As for trading AD to NY, I personally would prefer to send KAT to a 3rd team and draft picks come back to Dallas.

Nico is not trading AD no matter what. He just can't. Far more likely scenario is that he will be fired as a scapegoat. But we're far away from that. Mavs will win some games sooner or later. First move will be trading a package around Gafford. The only problem is that it looks there is not much interest for him.

First move will be at the TDL... After this stretch of home games the situation will be even worse.

But someone here told me that Harrison job is secure for at least 2 years so i'm ok... Sky isn't falling.

Would it be a Kings thing to do to trade for Klay?

DAL receives: Monk
SAC receives: Klay + 2 SRPs

DAL gets an explosive backcourt player scorer and playmaker. Monk can bring the ball up and play off ball in half court sets well. Does right by Klay by sending him to Cali too.

SAC does SAC things. 1 less year on contract. Gets out of the PG overload they have. Gets 2 SRPs too.

Well from my standpoint, yeah Nico has 2 ways he can go with this. The most likely scenario of course is Mavs will win enough games for Nico to survive. He won't do anything with AD because he talked so much **** about Luka and was lecturing everyone how important it is to have AD on the roster.
Remember how he went to the media after draft lottery and said "I hope fans can see my vision now"?... Like, this dumbass literally just admitted that the draft was rigged and he knew about it OR he's dumb enough to think people believed him that he will land nr1 pick with 1.78% draft odds :banghead:

If he does trade him, he'll never ever have a job anywhere close to the NBA. He's already in trouble by being linked to the worst trade in sports probably. The only thing making him look somewhat decent is the fact that he drafted Flagg.

But in an alternate universe, what else can the Mavs actually do? Like i talked about, go the OKC route and build around 19yo is the most logical choice because you have a lot of TIME to build a proper team. While the other option would be to actually get few good role players back for AD. Because no one is going to give you a superstar for an out of shape 33yo injury prone player.

Harrison is already printed in the history for the worst trade in sport ever.
But he had his paycheck for sure so he doesn't care... But karma will hit him hard. Trust me.

Am i the only one here to think that trade assets to fix this mess is stupid?

"Rumors" that Nico is the one that wants Cooper Flagg to replace Luka as a 6'9" PG. Both Jason Kidd and the players are frustrated there is no real PG on the team.

What??? how did he know??? NBA IS RIGGED. comfirmed.

I think the teams first road trip is going to help them. It will give the guys a chance to get away from home and hopefully give them a chance to build some chemistry.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
