Apparently not guaranteed and it's early so we can carry 20 players in preseason.

[The Indiana Pacers and Monte Morris have agreed to a one-year, non-guaranteed deal, league sources told @hoopshypeofficial.bsky.social. Morris averaged 5.2 points in 45 games for the Phoenix Suns last season.

Exhibit 9 is injury protection, so even if he tears an Achilles or something, his contract is still not gtd until he returns to health, as we saw last year with Wiseman.

Exhibit 9 deal per league source. Combo guard 6’5” 185 lbs. 33 years old and last season played 40 games between Bucks and Knicks shooting 43% from 2 for 3 points per game plus 2 assists per.

9-10 years of NBA experience is a plus but I would hope that the Pacers could find a better option if they plan to cut Bradley to roster another guard or go with Quenton until maybe a team cuts a guard due to roster crunch after league wide training camps.

Chad pretty clearly said training camp competition will determine 15th spot.

Yup. Delon Wright and Tony Bradley are 0% guaranteed, while Wiseman has $1m gtd until 1/10/26. I would imagine those 3 are competing for 2 possible spots? If Jackson and Wiseman are showing to be healthy enough to play every night, probably a tough road for Bradley to a spot? If QJax/RayJ/Kam show ready for some minutes at the 1, maybe a tough road for Wright to a spot?

Could always maybe even see a waiver claim at some point during camp? Or they might choose to leave the 15th spot empty? Or, if Monte Morris returns to health, maybe they swap back, if Delon hasn't earned a spot?

Lots up in the air, and no guarantee that whomever makes opening night will be there all season?

This team needs guard help bad. CJ McCollum will be available considering that Wizards are currently in a youth movement. Ben Simmons is a free agent who could probably be had on a vet minimum. Ben Simmons can defend and get the team into Carlisles Offense. Im confused on if this is going to be a tank year which wastes Pascal's prime or if the intent is to still be competitive enough to make the playoff and develop the roster. It doesnt make sense to play Sheppard out of position unless its a youth movement. Even then it still doesnt make sense to play him at the 1 because he wont play that position beyond this season.

I can see giving Simmons a try but not trading for McCollum unless he's bought out he's too expensive.

Dustin Dopirak

With backcourt injuries pilling up, the Pacers signed Mac McClung and waived James Wiseman. McClung is most famously the three-time NBA Slam Dunk champ, but also a former G League MVP: https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nba/pacers/2025/10/27/mac-mcclung-slam-dunk-champ-signs-with-pacers-james-wiseman-waived/86936898007/

Tony Bradley really hung on and kept his roster spot huh. Congrats to him. Hope Wiseman enjoyed getting to start in front of friends and family and keeps getting better after his injury, wherever he ends up next.

Looks that way. So far 0-4. Obi has a stress reaction in his foot, where did we hear that before?

With all the guards out I'd start either Ray J or Quenton Jackson and use the other as his back up and go with Nesmith at SG starting Walker at SF.

It's starting to look like a good move getting that 2026 #1 pick back.

What to do if this team is 12 and 30 at the trade deadline? Would a rest reload be a good move?

I hope to be consumed that weekend with the Colts in the SuperBowl.
