People wait, hope, and wishcast these lottery picks for years until they’re out of the league.

Which of the top 10 picks do you really think are future all stars? Wait and see is such a cop out. I’m happy to break down individual players.

I’m making a call and if I’m wrong I’m wrong but fence sitting until something happens is boring.

Here are my “predictions”

Fringe* all stars maybe:
Castle
Sarr

Impact players:
Clingan
Holland

Future role players:
Risacher

Bench riders:
Sheppard
Edey

End of bench / out of the league:
Dillingham
Salaun
Williams

I’m fine being wrong but I bet I’m right on at least 80% of these

Oh I'm not saying the draft class is good, I'm saying I'll give them more than one season before deciding whether they can beat 2000's top 10 with Kenyon Martin a 1 time All-Star as the only one to make an All-Star team and Jamal Crawford as the second best player in the top 10.

Micheal Redd says hello…

Actually impressive that he was known as a shooter in the NBA while in college was he wasn’t remotely a shooter.

Yea for sure, Redd was nice.

The poster was focusing on the top 10 players in the respective drafts, so I was sticking to that premise and not citing any guys out of that group

These guys are 1 season and two games into their careers and we're talking about "at least another draft class had an All-Star", I mean, lol

Ok then forget the draft year comparison lol

We can focus on the players.

There’s a lot to like about his game, but the idea that he’s going to a consistent 20+ ppg scorer seems a little farfetched imo.

His rebounding is great for his size though

Uh no. What?

Buzelis, Topic, Sarr, Castle, Risacher, just off the top of my head. He isn't even the best prospect on his own team. I forgot about Ware too.

I would love for you to backup your take that Topic is a better prospect than Kyshawn.

Haven't seen him due to injury but he was unanimously a better prospect pre draft.

Cody Williams was a better draft prospect too like that is worth anything

Yes but we already have some data on Cody in the NBA. We don't really know what Topic is yet.

Kel'el Ware is the best player out of 2024.

Remember when Bilal Coulibaly started last season on fire and everyone was saying he might be an all star?

I’m biased because I’ve been on Kyshawn from day 1 but who’s he even competing with in that draft class? It’s pretty terrible top to bottom.

He’s clearly better than Sarr and Risacher. Sheppard is awful, Castle is mid with a low ceiling.

I like Ron Holland but he doesn’t have the on ball or playmaking juice that Kyshawn does.

It’s really only between him and Matas at this point

jasonxxx102 wrote:2024 draft might be the worst top 10 of all time in terms of talent.

2000 is a hard class to beat but I doubt there’s even 1 all star in this group, maybe 1 or 2 guys look like fringe all stars if you squint really hard?

I’m guessing 3, maybe 4 of these guys don’t even make it to 5 years in the league.

And don’t even bother trying to tell me that it’s too early, talent is talent and you either have it or you don’t. We don’t have to wishcast guys who are just so obviously not starting NBA caliber players

Can't say it is terrible after one season. Certainly we aren't going to say it is great, but it's going to be one of those classes where we have to wait to see.

Kenyon Martin's class was also terrible so idk if that's the best example.
I think 2024 is going to go down as one of the worst of the century. There might be a couple of allstars. Like I could see Castle making it just on the strength of the spurs being good but generally if you're a future All-NBA player, you show flashes in your first year. I don't see anyone with All-NBA potential.

Oh I know but I'm saying that we can't proclaim it worse than that one after 1 season, and certainly not based on All-Star games achieved when that one had a 1 time All-Star who made it at 26 years old in season 4. If that's the criteria, then you would need to gives these guys 4 seasons / until 26 years old for that comp.
