Americans should hope they talk Thompson twins into playing for USA, they could be very good in the future, but they want to play for Jamaica.

Jamaica could become interesting if all these guys cleared to play.

Edwards / J-Will / Dort
Tatum / Flagg
Mobley / Chet / JJJ
AD / Kessler

I assume Cunningham, Flagg and Chet will be better players in '28 than now. (Flagg probably significantly)

Anyhow, 2027 WC qualification has not even started yet. We all assume that team USA will qualify, but with FIBA window system, you can never be completely sure anymore.

They will be given a wildcard if they don't qualify.

It's safe to say that guys like Ant, Brunson, Haliburton, Banchero and Jaren Jackson Jr. who have already played in the FIBA World Cup in 2023 and have since developed into franchise players, will not be there in 2027 in Qatar, but will be the backbone of the Olympic roster. It has always worked like that. I expect the USA team to get absolutely embarrassed again at the World Cup after sending a roster of badly put together 3rd string players or future stars still on a rookie contract.

The olympic roster will look something like this

Haliburton, Brunson, Maxey (or Ja Morant)
Edwards, Booker
Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Flagg
Banchero, Mobley
Adebayo, Holmgren

and I think France, Germany, Serbia, Canada, and Australia all have a very good shot at beating this team if they are at full strength.

2026 is shaping up to be a GOAT draft class.

Peterson, Dybansta, and Boozer could all be on the roster (joining Flagg) to give US the next dream team. Should be another easy gold for us
