Embiid being 7’2 280lbs and having 2 reb is very funny to me. I guess he’s only in the game to score now.

We might have the best backcourt in the league…

....rain parade guy here

Nurse is overplaying Maxey and VJ so far.

40-42 minutes a night isn't sustainable. Our deep guards being old washed men hurts big time here

We got lucky to win this ...

Hope that McCain and George get back soon, so we have some more firepower and give VJ and Tyrese enough rest during the season

That was questionable before. At this point.... Likely. Not due to 2 players, but there's 1 all-star that can handle himself well defensively and make plays on that end. Plus serious depth with VJ and Grimes being 2 way capable guys with size to play up at they've been doing without George. Add in Jared who could ultimately be the best shooting of them with best point guard ability... If he improved defensively in terms of experience and smarts.... That be nasty.

Really wonder where Morey goes with this group and Grimes contract situation especially considering oubre and George can really play 2-4... But really neither should be playing too much 4

His defense has not been very good. In general, it looks like rim protection is going to be a big problem this season.

Really sucks Grimes signed the QO. I love his game, but when McCain comes back, it’s going to be a really crowded backcourt. Nurse will likely play his guards the most, but the defense will suffer. Grimes for Eason would’ve been perfect. Opens up playing time for McCain/Edwards while giving us more size. Maybe we can swap McCain for Eason + a pick?

Hopefully George coming back will help, but we still need rim protection and rebounding. We can’t rely on Drummond to do that every night.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Nick Richards or Mark Williams from Phoenix might be available. They have 4 centers on that team and seem to really like Ighodoro, and Maluach (spelling?). Williams is injury prone, but talented, Nick Richards would give us the athletic, energy big off the bench. We're giving up at least Oubre to get one of them, and then you're hoping for Paul George health, and a Justin Edwards emergence.

The other option is Andre Drummond just steps it up and earns himself another contract somewhere else. The guy is still one of the best if not the best rebounder in the game. If he can run the floor and at least try and defend the paint, we should be ok. There will be nights where both he and Embiid are getting cooked, and ideally Bona steps in and gives us what we need. I don't know. This is going to be a problem all year long unless Jo (who was icing his knee last night) can get right again. It's only two games with him so far, so no panic, but damn is he slow. I'll shut up about it now. Sorry.

I worry more about VJ because rookies tend to hit a wall at some point playing their first 82. But I’m reserving judgement on mins until we have McCain and George back.

I mean, he has been avoiding to jump for years, he catches rebounds and gets over in his jumpers because of his height.

But he has look bad on defense this 2 games too. That's mostly what worries me, guys a going by him at will, obviously he's still getting there and stuff but maybe that's just his new reality.
