Whoever gives Reaves a big fat deal where he makes 30+ mil is gonna regret it. Any team with capspace cannot sign someone like him unless they already have a young cheap elite developing nucleus in place (think HOU with FVV and SAS with Fox) and need his skillset to help mature the players on their roster. AR15 is a great secondary playmaker and scorer, but his defensive shortcomings is so significant giving him ~25% of the capspace is incredibily ill advised unless your roster is chock full of rookie contract elite 2 way players or elite defensive role players who can hit wide open shots.

Unless AR15 goes OFF with a 25/8/4 season at elite efficiency, solid defensive analytics, AND has heroic playoff performances, i dont see any cap space team giving him the contract he wants. It needs to be a contender who's willing to give up a fair bit of value in a SnT thinking he's the final piece. His obvious shortcomings are glaring, why give him near max money and basically be unable to sign someone better in the future.

LeGoat has a no trade clause boo boo.

Well then just stretch him out and waive him

You really think a player that averages all that with solid defensive analytics is only worth 30m+? That's a 40m+ player imo, especially with the cap rising.

How much does Reaves get? If he becomes a one-season beast, the Lakers might need to pay up. Lakers fans will most likely say they will trade him for Giannis, but I don't see the Bucks bothering to get an overpaid Reaves and some silly picks.

So what are their options going forward?

I think Lakers fans should get used to the fact that for the Lakers to succeed with Luka pretty much every player on the roster will have to go.

First and foremost Luka needs a defensive big that is good (and likes) at rolling to the basket and catching lobs. The Lakers will likely end up getting a star/Superstar to fill that role. My guess is Giannis will eventually leave Milwaukee and Giannis would be great with Luka.

And even though Luka’s defense has “gotten better” he needs to be surrounded by 3&D wings.

Giannis will never play alongside Luka, and The Lakers have absolutely sweet FA in anything worth trading for him.

The new CBA and apron strings makes it impossible for The Lakers to sign him as a free agent either (the only possible path for them to acquire him)

$30m is just starter money these days. Reaves has proven over the last couple years he’s at least worth $30m a year.

Maybe half their fans know that they will never be real contenders as long as they have LeBron's contract there. It's only the other half that still think they can be contenders that can be annoying, true. LOL

Even if Lebron wanted this, you really think the Jazz are going to trade a 28yr star for maybe two seasons of Lebron? Then on top of that, we need to add more in the deal?
