Start Ayo, he's living rent free in Trae Young's head.

Hawks are a mess right now. If the Bulls are improved and looking to win 40+ this should be a dub imo.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

All three of the Hawks who missed last game, Jalen Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher, Kristaps Porzingis, participated at Hawks shoot around today so they seem likely to play.

Hoping Giddey is able to play. I want to bank wins while all these other teams are figuring themselves out.

They have a lot of moving pieces in their rotation and mouths to feed and are led by a guy that just doesn't really get it no matter how talented he is. Look at their box scores they've given up 132, 118 and 108. They are 28th in ORTG and 21st in DRTG. They have talented players, but right now they are figuring out how to play together.

They are a fully healthy team with good athletes. Plus they are strong where we are questionable. The Bulls also might be without their starting backcourt.

If Porzingis will play - he is a problem. I watched most of Hawks game on the road against Magic. It's difficult to explain why Hawks won. More like Magic lost. Magic had 10 TOs and 9 PFs in first q, made 10 out of 20 free throws in the first half. Couple times Magic built a solid lead, just to waste it. Without KP Hawks game was as usual very chaotic. KP, on the other hand, 20+, 10+ on high efficiency, seasoned pro.
In a win against Magic Pat and Jalen Smith were HUGE, Giddey -very solid. Bulls played well on both ends, not too many turnovers. Just play fast, take care of the ball - that way we become a problem for other team.

I don't disagree that they are still figuring it out but I think mess is strong. Using ratings for when there have only played three games and one of them was with all three of their front court starters out against the literal best team in the league when they will have them this game doesn't mean a whole lot.

For the third time in three games, the Bulls are solid underdogs. The national media say the Bulls stink and have no young core while the Pistons, Magic and Hawks are the new darlings of the Eastern conference. Hope the Bulls continue to show that the end of last year was no fluke and can continue the sweet life without Zach and Coby and with Ayo playing one-handed.

We will see if we can keep this up.

I got all my eyes on Okoro. My guess is he finally scores one of the first baskets of the game.
Also I want to see how Matas bounces back this game. I don't want the fouls to be a growing frustration.

Since when?

Since almost two weeks ago when he sprained his left thumb and was (and probably is off court) in a thumb spica brace. He missed the last preseason game as a result of the injury. It is effecting his ball handling and finish at the rim as he is trying not to use his left hand because it's painful.

Per Google

Chicago Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu suffered a thumb injury during a preseason game in October 2025, but was quickly cleared to play for the start of the regular season.

Details of the injury:

When it happened: Dosunmu sustained the injury during a preseason game against the Denver Nuggets on October 14, 2025. He later said it occurred in the third quarter when he caught his thumb on Aaron Gordon's jersey.

Diagnosis and status: An MRI showed the injury was a pain tolerance issue, with clean imaging. After practicing and responding well, he was cleared to play in the Bulls' season opener on October 23 and has been listed as "Healthy" on recent injury reports.

This thumb issue was a minor concern compared to the season-ending shoulder surgery Dosunmu underwent in March 2025. He has successfully recovered from that more severe injury.

Not literally 'one-handed' but he did have a bung shoulder last year that he had surgery on this offseason.

Edit: I stand corrected, literally (at least somewhat) one-handed.

Thanks for the info Jello Biafra.
