Lets be fair here. Rick Carlisle has taken 2 teams to the finals and won a ring as both a player and coach. Mose has never coached a team that has won a playoff series.

And to be fair Mose has taken this team to the playoffs twice in back to back seasons.

To think this team with the most talent since the Dwight Era will just not win more than 49-50 games doesn't seem likely.

Its not even a situation where the team looks like they're maxed out they're just all out of sorts, tired, and dont have chemistry and trying to find themselves 4 games in.

Thats why I find it sort of ridiculous.

Pro ball players being tired 4 games into the season is Diabolical.

Playing themselves into game shape? You've never heard of that?

The one thing I liked about Bane’s post game interview is he owned up to his mistakes. Most of the players, including Franz and Paolo, are afraid to call themselves out and always soften it up with team need to get better, I need to get better. But Bane, without prompting, took responsibility.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.-John 3:16

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

For the record, I'm not mocking Paolo for the quote.

I'm saying that if the team after just one week is already resigned to the fact that a quicker pace on offense is going to lead to noticeably worse defense, that's not great.

Well, the team went from obvious playoff team to bottom 5 dumpster tank squad and the only real change was Bane. He seems very intelligent in all his interviews, so I am sure he has ideas to the issues at hand that we dont.

I think I'm about done with trying to masquerade AB as a point guard at least under mosely..... Honestly I think AB would fare better in an ACTUAL system where he has to be a bit robotic.... Because at least at that point he wouldn't be aimless.... He'll know the plays, where people are supposed to be and when.... Instead of now having to read the defense in real time and react, not everyone is good at that kind of high level processing.... So it might do him some good putting him on rails like a roller coaster

Pretty certain the Magic will get above .500 within the next 9 games. Their schedule is pretty soft.

Yeah, it is hilarious only 4 games in, lol. The schedule is soft the next nine games. They should be over .500 by then.

I never preferred a fast pace. I'd love to score 90 or 100 instead of 80, but even at 80 that's the pace I think we're better at. Not let's go for 120 points. You literally get smacked against a wall against certain Playoffs teams. They shut that down and force a 90 point game. That was US. That's what we DID to others. CLE and BOS offenses got a little off-kilter and out of rhythm at the get-go, especially outside of their star players. The Magic got more confident. We don't have lithe, quick Tyrese Maxeys and Ja Morants. We have NFL players who weigh more.

The only reason I spoke well of the fast pace were 3 reasons; a) In theory, it should open up our offensive chemistry quicker. b) Prunty is behind the scenes with probably a hand in the "fast pace idea". c) Mastering and interchanging between both "slow pace" and "fast pace" per matchups instead of being overly dogmatic.

But is this Prunty's and Mosely's biggest and only idea? Not even close, I imagine. They can probably create magic in a slower pace offense too.

If we only added Prunty and Shamm this summer, and not Bane, Tyus, and Jase, Noah, I would definitely still be fine with like a 40-game leash on the "fast pace idea". But right now, my fan opinion is for like a 25-game leash only, and then start revolting if the record is under 500. It's a tricky question, because what if everything clicks with the fast pace at Game #60, at a .472 record, into a roaring, strong finish for like an ECF or Finals+ run. It would have been the best idea ever.

In all the ugly defense today, the high scoring game showed some really, really cool moments. Franz feeding Paolo down low like some big man like twice iirc, was the biggest one to me. Maybe something is cooking.

It shouldn't be lost on anyone that the offense flowed a bit better at a slower pace like we were at tonight, we probably should slow it down a bit more to get the defense right. Listening to magic podcast even the host thought that we seemed to be running just to run with no structure..... There is something here we can work with it's just going to take a bit more time to clean it up and get it right.... Also it's a long season and some of y'all are already about to jump off... Step back from the ledge

Paolo’s quote sounds more like redirecting blame than it does an honest assessment.

The pace doesn’t even feel quicker. It just looks more disjointed and less about Paolo dribbling the ball around on the perimeter.

There were a few plays tonight where they drew in defenders for a kick out and it worked fine. Then there are plays where they dribble into the teeth of a set defense and lose the ball immediately.

In terms of defense it’s guys not switching quickly enough or losing assignments. AB was blown by consistently without help down low.

Disappointing start to the season.

But we also made big changes with the offense with the addition of Prunty and Bane. I think this is a good feeling, we are passionate about this because we expected and we know this team is capable of being better.
