Is it time for PHI to finally move on from Embiid?

Are there still people who dont realise Embiid has worst contract in a league? You think they wouldnt want or didnt already try to move on from him? Explain to me how do they move from him, waving abd stretching 250 million, are you mad?

For the next 2 seasons, it will be impossible to move him, but a medical retirement is possible too.

But, before we get to there, Embiid is always very slow getting back into shape, and he hasn't played (and got a surgery) since february I think. So ...

This Sixers' team is evolving quickly, thanks to the gift they got with VJ and the most interesting thing to me, is if Embiid will accept another role (as a passer and foremost defender/rebounder). If not, he will become a timebomb on this team. I don't know if he has the maturity to evaluate all this.

But even if they are stuck with his contract for the next 2 seasons (I guess the final one will be a buy-out or so), the future in Philly with Maxey/VJ and McCain is bright. And in 2 seasons, they have some Clippers' picks to work with too.

The contract is untradeable at this point.

If they can load manage JoJo and convince him he isn’t the main guy at The Sixers anymore and let Maxey run the show, it could still work out nicely for Philly i think.

I would continue to keep him on a minutes restriction (say 25-30 max) for the first half of the season and if touch wood he stays healthy, maybe give him more for second half of the season (don't play him on second night of back to backs either)

He can't play the Bona/Drummond role, if you put him there is to score, and if given 30 mpg he could score 20+ ppg even in a prostetic leg. But that would probably be detrimental for the team.

There were definitely some miserable aspects to The Process but it resulted in 34 playoff victories between 2018 and 2024 which is the most Philly has had in any seven year stretch since the 1980s.

But yeah, if they could move on from Embiid right now then they 1000 percent should.

But imagine what Philly could have got for him, a HEALTHY all-star to compliment Maxey etc.
Philly would have the roster to make the NBA Finals every year if they'd traded Embiid for an all-star...

I disagree with the premise. He's still a top center in the league and has no problems deferring to Maxey if/when he returns to playing major minutes.

His question mark is his health. Right now, you're not going to get a player even close to his caliber even when attaching assets. You may as well stick to the plan of monitoring his health and progressively bumping up his minutes.

Best case scenario is that he returns to form and adjusts to the new team. Worst case scenario is that retires and you get off the contract in a year with a decent amount of assets at their disposal.

Edgecombe and Maxey are clearly the future and let's not forget McCain who would have been the ROTY last season if not for his injury.

The quicker they move on from Embiid, the better. Once he comes back, he will take shots away from the backcourt and producing very little in return.

Embiid even playing on one leg is better than 90% of the entire league. Unless hes on a wheelchair or physically cant stand on both legs you dont trade away an elite two way force bc hes hindering or "taking away" shots from edgecombe and maxey(who i like both). knee-jerk never go full (Please Use More Appropriate Word) take
