I don't know why but I have a feeling that the injury might just be an excuse to skip the road trip...I Know this might sound crazy but Luka is expecting a second child....though nobody knows when(they didnt event Know they were expecting), she was seen in the summer in Croatia with a pretty big belly...and the article in Slovenia speculated(last month) that they managed to hid the pregnancy almost untill the end

Highly unlikely, they are tomorrow back in LA again.

I'm not a big fun of Reaves but not include him in the trade was even more stupid than the Nico vision of Coop at the point.

What a moron.

Yes, Nico helped Lakers 2x, first giving them Luka, secondly not taking AR, that basically means LA doesn't need LeBron and will make huge improvements to build a team around Luka next year, when LeBron is gone and not having many players under the contract. AR and Kyrie are in many ways similar players, AR being younger and entering prime.

Luka sitting out very winnable games when Smart and Vinvent are also down isn't a good look.
He played with the jammed finger agaunst the Wolves, these are injuries Luka played through before and Lakers have a very thin margin of error.
I'm getting a year off vibe from them, both in off season moves and how they approach this season.

Yes, he played through many injuries as Mav, but what good has he gotten from that? Lakers look pretty solid considering all injuries. Home game against Wolves and away win against Kings was very impressive. Portland was just scheduled lost considering injuries and back2back.

Legacy? I mean he could've given up in the beginning on 23/24 season when Kyrie and Lively were down and not play through injuries, had he done that the team wouldn't have been able to make the late season push and go to the finals, imagine where he'd be if he didn't go to the finals and what the narrative around him would be.

Portland at home, and Wolves w/o Ant are winnable games, they already lost one, we'll see what happens against the Wolves.

Yes legacy. After carrying Mavs alone for 1.5 months and averaging 34/9/10, he was traded in the middle of the night, with explanation he didn't care enough about the team, his body and doesn't bring the right culture to the Mavs. That's his Mavs legacy. I'm pretty sure his memories of Mavs are greatly effected by what happened in the end. He will be always happily returning in Madrid but not in Dallas.

I would imagine that him not playing is a decision of medical staff not him.

And the Mavs were ridculed for that reasoning, specifically because he was coming off a finals run, if Nico did him wrong, it doesn't mean he should sabotage his next steps.
If Luka wants to play he should pound on the table and play, with his non injured hand.

He doesn't sabotage anything, you just don't take unnecessary risks that soon in the season. If Lakers should take every game as a playoffs game they are already doomed.

This conversation is kinda ridiculous because we don't even know what is wrong with his hand or leg. I doubt very much he would be out for 1 week after his hot start, if he was basically ok.

Yeah, not buying that, he played almost full game with that injury, this is their easy part of the schedule, it doesn't get easier in the west, it's not like the team is healthy, LeBron and Vincent are out, they are out of ball handlers, both Kings and Blazers games, the team collapsed the moment Reaves was off the floor.
He may be really injured, but they may also be taking things way too easy, especially with how they approached the pre season.

We don't know how that thumb looked after the game and he's out because thumb injury and lower leg contusion. Maybe it's lower leg injury they don't want to risk.

Ayton looks pretty solid pickup for Lakers, especially considering his price.

Miami seems to be waiting to find a superstar.

Norman Powell and Simone Fontecchio will eat up the cap space from Rozier once the two of them are extended.

At the very least I thought Dalton Knecht needed to be included.
