This is sort of who Ingram has always been. No team led by him has ever gone anywhere. Scores on average efficiency. Average playmaker for his usage/role. Gets usage assists but you never feel like the offense is running all that well. Solid self-created (talent) shot making. He’s not a gravity guy. As far as #1 option on a playoff team goes he’s low on the list.

It’s early but I never believed in him as a guy who is going to carry this team to new heights. I’ve heard him categorized as a purgatory player: too good for you to really tank but not good enough to take you anywhere in the playoffs. I think people are going to see how his stats don’t translate all that much to winning.

We are hoping there is some untapped potential left there that we can help unlock. If he stays who he has been, it's not terrible given what we gave up still, but we are definitely hoping for more.

Dude, Ingram is 28, there is no untapped potential, stop overrating our development staff. He's just a lousy uninspiring scorer who doesn't bring anything else to the table. And we payed a lot for it. We talking about a top 4 lottery pick.

Cooper Flagg put up 2/2/0 on 1/9 after cooking us last night

This team can't defend to save its life

If Ingram is not capable of impacting games then they might as well move him to free up minutes for CMB.

Pacers Pick. They're currently 0-3. Yeah, this gonna be a top 4 pick, sure.

Stop making this stupid argument as if we had the power of hindsight with Haliburton tearing his ACL and Dame getting waived to allow Milwaukee to sign Myles Turner.

No one could have foreseen this at the time the deal went down. If they did, they would have made it a "worst of Raptors/Pacers 2026 1st"
condition.

There's definitely been questionable trades under the Masai/Bobby post-championship era and you chose the one that didn't look bad at the time whereas everyone (should have) called the Thad Young trade a mistake and the Poeltl trade set the rebuild, retool, whatever back years specifically due to the timing.

Poeltl is clearly hurt.

I never understood how it wasn’t questioned about whether it was a good idea to model your game plan after your summer league roster. How and why did they think that’s how the starters can or should play.

Our strategy seems to be to hold tight to a gamble Masai made two years ago. IQ is not a bad player he’s just not a lead point guard. Whether we let that spoil a half decade trying to force it, is up to management. And how long they stick with Darko is up for development too.

BI has been really bad on defence. Getting blown by Harrison Barnes is not it.

It was a bad pitch.

I'm not a fan of deliberately putting the tying run on base with just one out. Maybe you can do that against other worse teams where there's a big talent drop off in batters, but this is the Dodgers. All it takes after the walk is one well placed single and Othani gets to third. Then all you need is a sac fly and poof, there goes the lead.

He was 3/3 at that point in the game, and it was a bad pitch. Playing scared typically doesn't end well.

i know people are excited about him but this is about to become that vision 6'9 nonsense again. You need a real center to win.

Agreed but current Yak is a negative player. Sit him out until he gets right.

Back spasms is no joke.

100% on Ingram. This is why he’s better as a 2nd/3rd option. He doesn’t have the game to facilitate and generate points for his teammates at a high level. He’s a great shot maker, especially tough shot maker but there’s a reason the Pelicans never had a top 10 offence despite having a lot of offensive fire power.
