In Mo's defense he hasn't played yet.

But you're right that Dadiet didn't look ready yet, if he ever will. The brass does seem to like him given he's still here.

This is a huge part of it. Anything else is kind of overthinking this current sample size.

What's undeniable is that we are generating a ton of open looks.

What do you mean? To know how good the team is...

Yea, gravy is right. It's a legit question and it shouldn't be shot down. I think in general, there are a few rules to keep in mind.

One is that we should give some grace in the beginning stages, in the same way we give to rookies and new teams. A new coach coming in with a new system...we are going to see some growing pains. If we're not, then Brown is not doing his job. New rotation patterns, systems, etc. The league itself is also adapting, so the Knicks need to adapt. Hell, a lot of people know I disliked the Clarkson signing A LOT but I'm going to give him time. As for how much time, I do remember Hollinger saying 25% of a season is usually a good marker. But how much do you want to trust him? Up to you.

Second is that small sample size is going to play a role in the beginning stages of this season too. There is one interesting change going on for the Knicks this season...we're jacking up more threes. Whether that's good or bad, you all can decide, but that also creates more variance. We shot 34 a game last season. This year, we're at 40, 45, and 54. So some letdowns are going to happen because three point shots leave you prone to these letdown performances. To be honest, us shooting 15-54 against Miami from three and somehow losing by 8 is actually...not too bad in my book. Any loss sucks, but it's not alarming, if you put it that way. The game plan was working. We took 15 more shots than they did and clanked 15 more threes, but if I can get 15 more shots than an opponent every single game, I'll be damn happy.

Third principle is that some of you guys were very good at reminding everyone we aren't championship winners after beating Cleveland in G1. In the same way, don't rush to try to bury this team after losing to Miami. Try to leave off former coaches and players, cause it makes people think someone is rushing to judgment because they want someone to fail in hopes of propping up their favorite ex-Knicks player or coach.

I'll put it this way. The question would have been treated differently if you had been the one asking it initially.

What's clear is Brown is going to do more experimenting with different lineups and I don't think anything will be really settled until there's better data on what's working.

You're right that it's pretty wild that we're not hitting shots. Like, we have good shooters. They're good shots. We're not hittin' 'em.

he looks really slow and weak and the athleticism doesnt seem to be there. He is young and french so there is still some hope. But outside of that (his form looks nice, too) its concerning. Cause there is need for a wing and he cant beat out shamet for mins. That sucks.

id rather see mo right now than shamet or 3pac right now. Give me the unknown.

Maybe instead of a million assistant coaches we should hire a more scouts. Or get them out of France. Either way I dont want to turn into Rob. An ol' head who hates the youth. But damn its hard when they're always trash.

Good thing were a sanguine group. Who is naturally patient - willing to give this time because we believe in the power of positivity and know this will work out. And if by the off chance it doesnt we will still remain positive and hope for the best.

Bucks offense is off to a good start after 3 games averaging 122 ppg on 50% FG and 38% on 3PA.

We, on the other hand, not so good.
