For years, the Hornets surrounded Ball (and Brandon Miller) with athletic, developmental players without immediate pathways to NBA contribution. James is the opposite, fitting into multiple roles on both ends. His strong connective passing quickly translated, especially as a screener for Ball.

Did we not watch him in college? The one thing this guy cannot do is inbounding. The Final 4 game taught us that. Why was he inbounding at the end?

Terrible memory you brought up there.

Part of sunshine therapy process conducted by Lee; “I know you had a bad experience, but the first step is confronting your fear and bad memories. Think happy thoughts and go inbound that ball”
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

i was so wrong on my first impressions of sion in sl. he'll be a rotation wing for a while, even after his shooting regression.
plus... he's an awesome human being, it seems. kemba, marvin, zeller, lin, mkg levels of awesome person. im becoming a huge fan. he has filled the cody martin/okogie hole in my heart.

Can see it's Kon on top but thinking Sion at #2's more impressive seeing he's always matched up against elite scorers.

Lots of crucial plays including assisting on the shot to send it into OT

Re: Dad Bod: The Sion James Thread
hes been great, the point guard skills has been a pleasant surprise. as much as he helps, i would not be against him spending a couple of weeks in the G league to further develop those areas. they are doing such a good job down there, it genuinely feels like people develop in the swarm now, compared to the old years when a g league stint just meant you got to launch as many shots as you want and go for 50

Re: Dad Bod: The Sion James Thread
Sion is pretty much what I expected, can guard 1-3 but offensively he is a guy that should only touch the ball when he is open for a corner 3.
Don't buy he is some back up point guard, his assist% is 25th percentile for all players in the league. 8.5% is really low for a guard.
Good to see him in a more manageable role of 20 mpg, tough to play him more than that and have a real offense. Situationally a very useful player and a good pick for the 2nd round but I don't really have high hopes he develops into much more than he is right now.

Rook owning the MVP, also the only guy off the bench willing and able to find the man in the corner. Please be a Hornet for a long time

Think adding Coby becomes a big deal for Sion in the long run now that he's got less on his plate and more time to lock in on his strengths.

Re: Dad Bod: The Sion James Thread
One of his career-best games. He's good when not guarding guys over 6'9" lol. Let's find him some matchups
