Spurs has an interesting schedule so far.
Mitch is also riding on the greatness of Wemby has 3 wins by beating the FELLOW younger coaches of Orleans, Nets, Toronto, all those tacticians are struggling right now.
Thunder has a great roster, he is 40 years old coaching on his 5th year now.

And Doc isn't riding Giannis? No team controls schedule. We're also depleted with 4-5 rotation guys out, including a paper thin front court behind Wemby. Either the goalposts are firmly old vs. new coaches or they're not.
Daigs was hired as a new 35 year old coach, then. They had barely over 20 wins their first couple of seasons. Grew largely through the draft and making deft trades. Sound familiar?

Fair enough, title thread stated Older coaches “looking” better than MOST younger ones.
Never said these old farts are actually better than ALL younger tacticians.
Not a few here have been bashing old re- threads like Nurse, Donovan and Doc as if hiring much younger guys would be a much smarter move.

While the season is still young, I'm not sure Mike Brown is "looking better" than any of the younger coaches we tried (and failed
) to get instead of him.

I mean, it's way too early to even judge how coaches are doing based on team record, but even if it wasn't, unless the older coaches are all doing something different than the younger ones, what are we to take from the data point?

I mean it would make sense that coaches who have been able to maintain a coaching position are generally better than new ones.
