From NBA TV to League Pass?

Post#1 » by hauntedcomputer » Tue Oct 28, 2025 3:32 pm

I hate to clog the GB with this but I can't find clear answers on Google.

I subscribe to NBA TV and last year I had plenty of games to watch because NBA TV usually streamed a few condensed games the next day, which by far my preferred way to watch. Now it seems they will show no replays and only one or two live games a week. I also enjoyed the free TNT overtime games even though the angles were bad.

Thinking of cancelling NBA TV and getting the League Pass, it's only about 40 bucks more a year. I'm not buying all the different venues since I only want to watch eight or ten games a week. I care nothing for stupid studio blather from the Isaiah Thomas ilk, I just want games.

Is League Pass worth it? (NBA.com doesn't really have a good explanation of just what you get-- I assume you get to watch replays of any game that was on LP? And are locally blacked out and also don't get national broadcasts?) I don't want to illegally stream, either. Thanks for your input.

I've never had league pass but I'm fairly certain from looking into it that you can watch replays of every game, even the ones that were nationally televised or blacked out in the local market.

Yeah NBATV kinda sucks all the sudden. It's nonstop televised podcasts instead of basketball games.

League Pass gives you access to live games that are out of market, and replays of every game.

Edit: I should have clarified that "national" games (ESPN/NBC/Prime) are not live on League Pass.

I’ll hijack this thread with a similar question for Aussies. Anyone dumped league pass this year to use Disney+ instead? It looks like all games are on there and available on demand

Looks like you only get the ESPN games through Disney Plus. I don't want a bunch of channels, just hoops.

LOL if you cancel your NBA TV you are still stuck with that crap for an entire year and no refund.

League pass has NBATV included with it.

Someone told me Prime sub comes with LP for free? Might want to check that too

I added League Pass which cut the cost of NBA TV in half, Next year I'll just do League Pass by itself. Now I gotta catch up on games.

League Pass doesn't come with Prime but you can get it as an add-on. Next year I might just do prime plus add-on, depending on how things change next year.

Hijacking the thread, I can't find the condensed games (also my favourite way to watch) on NBA LP on PS5, anyone on PS5 found it?
I watch them on the phone, but prefer on the big screen.

I in Toronto and I have league pass which restricts the following games for me when watching live:
-Raptors games
-Espn Games
-Games on local networks

I get around these restrictions by using a VPN.

The only thing I haven't figured out how to get around is watching ESPN games sadly.

As someone mentioned, I believe you have access to full replays to all games once they have been completed.

If you try using VPN for your league pass on apple tv to avoid blackouts, it will not work anymore.

I am seeing some games in the schedule for NBA TV. But not every night.

How are the replays on League Pass? Are they the full games? With or without commercials/ads? Or are they edited highlights of the games?

There are both full game replays and condensed replays. The condensed replays have the commercials edited out but I think they are still there in full replays.

If you’re an NBA fan paying for NBATV, switch to League Pass. I’ve had league pass for 10-15 years and can’t imagine not having it.
