He’s only 22, Joe is trying to keep him with a level head and have him realize that he has to do it consistently. People underestimate how difficult it is to be consistently good, especially when you’re young. I like it, hopefully he keeps developing. He is looking like a steal at the moment, you could see it from preseason!

Great win!

This was Baylor Scheierman's final chance to impress the decision maker, Brad Stevens. Before next game Baylor finds out if his 2026-27 option got picked up. So ... we'll see. I bet Celts pick up that option, but maybe?? ... we'll know soon

Shak, Luka is winning me over a bit. He keeps scrapping, has started to have a few more effective defensive plays in the paint, and seems to be finding his touch. I'll be ready to kick him to the curb next time, but I'm starting to see how he can a potential role player this season at least. You?

Probably better asset management to pick it up, right?

you pretty much have to pick up the option so you have the flexibility to trade him but he's terrible and certainly hasn't earned it.

I think so, probably. Last year at this time, Memphis declined to pick up Jake Laravia's option. Laravia had a great first half of the year and memphis had to move him at the deadline for a 2nd round pick. After the season, Kleiman said it was a mistake to not pick it up before the season

I think it's probably better for us to pick it up. But on the other hand, if Scheierman doesn't get better, then we're stuck with a contract for a player we don't want with Tatum coming back and we're trying to still deal with the tax and aprons. Picking up the option is an interesting decision. Baylor could have made it a layup YES if he'd just played well but he has not played well... we'll find out tomorrow or Friday. could really go either way imo

Yeah, I was ready to stick him to the bench. He’s been better. Still shouldn’t be tasked to defend outside of the paint, we’ll be in deep trouble. Once he’s inside the paint others have to guard perimeter guys or help because he can’t get back out there to contest. Don’t like that he can’t make the baskets around the hoop either, don’t know why. He is getting the call or RB so I can’t be too hater. Love the rebounding! He’s growing on me, but I’m keeping an eye on him. :D

Been a rough week for me (just found out how bad my elderly Mother's dementia diagnosis really is) so this win was a much needed pick me up.

Wasn't able to watch it live, so currently watching the replay on ESPN.

Really enjoying our defensive efforts from the 2nd quarter onwards.
A nice leadership/all round game from Jaylen so far (5 .mins left in 2nd quarter)

Hearts in mouth stuff when Queta took that 3 lol

Anyhow nice to have a bit of optimism and hope back. Loving Hauser getting his mojo back

Marry my daughter, Josh Minott

Definitely not a bulky guy but 6'9" height and basically 7'0" wingspan at the combine - certainly has the length

Minott passed a test with his rebounding numbers. He's demonstrating tenacity there. I loved the signing from the start. He makes good decisions with the ball. I have made the reference before, but will repeat here, he does give me a Tony Allen vibe. There are some loose plays at times that will bug the less tolerant of us. But those gambles also pay off in momentum changing plays too.

It was tough not clicking for Queta lol. I fully supported him taking that 3 when they gave him so much space to shoot it. He's played very well without forcing anything.

JB would get my primary vote. He's had to carry so much of the scoring burden.

Nice win.

VC goes to Brown and Minott. Brown was really good, especially in the 1st half.

Minott was huge for us. 11 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block. He gave us energy and defense. The 14 rebounded was much needed.

Queta with back to back good games, as well. 10 points, 13 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. 13 rebounds in only 25 minutes was big.

Hauser was really good. He kept us in the game in the 1st quarter, making 5 of his 7 3s in that quarter. He became only the 6th player in NBA history to make 5 3s off the bench in the 1st quarter.

Garza with a good games also. 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block. He played solid defense.

Simons was solid.

We won by 20 points, when White and Prichard combined for just 9 for 33 from the field. Prichard helped out with 10 assists and White still had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Really good coaching job by Joe.

Pritchard played a great point guard game running the team. The shot will come, I’m not worried about that at all. He’s adjusting to being a starter, but we absolutely need him there over Simons for his creation skills. Last few games have been very encouraging for him, imo.

Like I said, it will be between PP and Simons and PP is the clear winner.

Simons doing well by scoring in double digits in all 5 games, but he's no playmaker.

Yeah, I think Simons is settling in well as a mini Hauser with ability to drive. And he’s working on D. He can definitely earn at least half his money. :D

Tell you what though, saw more red flags with Cleveland tonight. Spida is not a legit player that can take The Cavs or any other team to the promised land.
Garland is a significant out of them, i just dont see them coming out of The East tbh.

Feel like Milwaukee probably look the most likely at this way too early stage with Giannis back in MVP form.

This is Spida's 9th season and he never reached the conference finals, east and west.

Back in 2021, Spida and the Jazz were the #1 seed and they exited in the semis.

Last season, the #1 seed and 64 wins for the Cavs and they exited in the 2nd round.

Celtic fans keep complaining about Simons being small.

Spida is the same size as Simons!

If Mynot continues to play well heading into All-Star break, we might have found one of the key pieces for a deep playoff run.

Imagine a lineup of C, Mynot, JT, JB, and White.
That's going to be similar to what OKC has when it comes to perimeter defense.

The question now is can Brad get a reliable Center using Simons as trade bait.

Simons needs to continue to play well to raise his trade value.

Brad can hit 2 birds with one stone if he ends up trading Simons for a Center that can compete with Queta for the starting Center spot.
And the Celts might be able to lower even more their payroll if Simons' contract is gone.
