TBH this doesn't really work on me though. I do not care what a coach did 15-20 years ago lol. I think most coaches are very similar, most run pretty similar things, and on court play is dictated by players probably up to 80%.
That's not saying I think Carlisle and Spo are bad coaches - it's just that's precisely the reason why they are given long leashes. They won a while ago and know how to coach, but I think most coaches are replaceable, which is why it's funny people think I think Mose is some genius - he isn't, I just think most coaches do very similar stuff if the personnel is the same. He just got guys to buy into defense and play hard. Now, if we can't do that anymore, firing him for that won't bother me, just people thinking we get a new coach and we'll hit threes, free throws, and make less boneheaded decisions... I can sell some snake oil to them.
What's the difference between Malone, Budenholzer, D'Antoni, Stan Van Gundy, Nurse, Bickerstaff, Vogel, Thibs, Jenkins, Monty Williams after they got fired for underperforming after deep playoff runs/finals championships or runs with their teams? Were they all bad enough to get fired because their coaching regressed or was it the easiest thing to do instead of trading players?
