The Suggs point guard experiment just isn’t working. Suggs is at his best when he’s unleashed to be a defensive nightmare and we all feed off of his energy. These last two games I haven’t seen the real Jalen Suggs out there. Heck I don’t think I’ve seen the real Suggs since opening night. Where did the passion and Energy go?

The Magic have not yet submitted their injury report, but I'm guessing Suggs won't play on the 2nd night of the BTB.

There has to be a divide in the locker room, I believe it comes down to Team Franz & Team Paolo.

Kind of hilarious it took multiple seasons for people to learn this now.

I do think it is also kind of a problem that our stars have gotten so mediocre without the ball to the point where someone like Tyus' skillset is basically useless on this team. I mean I am sure this also has something to do with Mose's system.

But since it isn't working and Tyus offers no value other than that, they really need to give Franz a chance to handle the ball again. Sub Tyus for Jase to have the ultimate floor spacing for Franz to operate. Hornets and Wizards are perfect teams to try this against. Something's gotta give.

Also please take the ball out of AB's hands and let him be a slasher off the ball. He's shown some promise going to the hoop, but playing out of position is doing him no favors.

Candidly, it didn't *really* matter all that much until now. Mosley is well liked and he got these guys to generally play really hard when they weren't completely all in organizationally speaking on winning at all costs.

He earned the right to at least get the first crack at being the leader of this team when they were actively trying to win.

And now he's gotten it and it isn't going well enough. He's got a month to figure it out.

Franz's usage was 31% last year.

It's 23.3% this year.

He has a .622 TS%, which is a career high.

He needs the basketball a lot more than he's getting it right now.

For better or worse Franz is not the guy who will force his way. He wants to be good teammate. I understand him but then you have a philosophical question. Do you stay quiet and team hurts becouse of it or do you demand more usage, antagonize some teammates but your team benefits in the long run. I know it should be coaches task, but in life you often get what you fight for. Who will be the one confronting Paolo ? His agent ? His mom ? This is supposedly a professional team. Thats what you get when you use family argument to not hold anyone accountable.

Agreed. It's execution related and coaching is complicit.

What annoys me about these Tyus assessments is that people are failing to see the context behind why he was signed for 1 year.

1) He wasn’t a solution. He was never going to be a primary playmaker on the floor with the number of guards and the amount of time Paolo needs the ball in his hands to do ANYTHING. The numbers with them show this. He was a backup to Suggs and mentor to Jase, who wasn’t known for being a primary distributor.

2) You cannot pin the bad offense on a backup point guard that in all likelihood should be steadying the offense in a secondary unit. AB/TDS/JI/Goga/Moe/etc are not doing that off the bench. You can’t have JUST one guy in staggered lineups capable of generating looks. We have seen variations of that.

To break down the main issues with this offense and pin it on Tyus Jones is a funny outcome. Suggs is +10 on the court and -17 off of it on a minutes restriction.

The problem is Mosely’s system, which comes apart when you now see that playing fast exposes specific skillsets on players now making max money.

Franz’s next step up would be him realizing this is his team, his franchise now and the team plays better with him as the focal point. We all seen it last year when Paolo went down, Franz stepped up. He’s just got to get himself to that point he honestly admits it is his time.

I agree. I mean short guards can fall off fast, so it isn't beyond possibility that Tyus became unplayable around 30 years old.

But really I view him not fitting just as much as an indictment against Mose and our system/ the way our stars play. I certainly don't think Tyus is even close to being deserving of the most blame. The offensive system is rotten. I don't know if it is more coach based or personnel based, but if we keep losing we will head closer to finding out.

The problem isn't really Tyus anyway. His minutes were already cut to basically a negligible amount the last two games and they still looked like crap and lost both games.

The issue beyond terrible defense all around is that Suggs and Black are being given way too on ball reps at the expense of Franz. And Suggs and Black, while both scoring relatively efficiently, have ASTRONOMICALLY high turnover rates so far.

And 6 fouls per 36. Fouls never get talked about, but are obviously not good. Suggs is playing extra wild trying to get his money's worth in limited minutes

He's been very good though, shooting obviously isn't remotely sustainable, but still. Agree he and AB probably should not be running the offense.
