He is about to lose 3 year of his career already it seems. I honestly wasn't high on him to begin with, but what do I know, Presti was. But now it will be tough, this is key development years for a player. It is good to hear from posters here that this particular cancer is very treatable, but still tho, I think it will be tough for him to stick in the NBA now, he just hasn't played almost at all for last 2 years and now this.

It is generally one of the more treatable cancers, fortunately. Good friend was diagnosed with the same in 1984 at stage 4. Took some radical surgery and treatment, but he was fully cleared. He's doing great today, with 4 kids, grandkids and living the dream. Hopefully the same happens for Topic.

We've had numerous players here in Australia playing AFL go through testicular cancer and return sooner than you would think.

I didn't make any joke, let alone a tasteless joke. I laughed at people praying for Nikola Topic's testicles, which is still hilarious, and will never not be hilarious. So to emphasize, at no point did i make fun of Nikola Topic generally, or for having cancer specifically. I was pretty careful not to do that, because that's different. It's not funny to get cancer. But like, when you guys are praying, do you literally say "Nikola Topic's testicles," or are you not allowed to say testicles to God? C'mon, lighten up guys.

I'll preface this by pointing out that historically, all of the most successful testicular cancer awareness campaigns centered humor in their messaging. Humor is a pretty run of the mill feature in the testicular cancer world. Just look up some awareness posters or slogans over the past 20 years. I get your knee jerk reactions, but it's the next day now and there's no excuse not to read up a little and adjust your expectations.
