One play a few minutes ago was a perfect window into my concern for him. drove the lane, blocked because he's not long or athletic enough. goes for the rebound and the magic dude just grabs it over hi because he's not long or athletic enough.

I'm really not all that impressed with the Magic. Not having Brandon and his size on the court is obviously a huge problem. The Hornets just look undersized across the board. When this team is finally good I doubt Miles will be starting on it.

Yeah, sobering reminder that this team will more than likely be less than 30 wins. LaMelo has been ultra disappointing the last few games. He's not on Cade's/Haliburton's/Maxey's level, even though he has more size and talent. If Miller can't stay healthy then we still don't have a franchise player on this team

Frustrating game again. Agree size and defense jammed up Kon, and frankly most everyone else except Kalk, who played pretty well (except he keeps getting killed on 3’s because he can’t extend D to the perimeter). The mini lineup to start wasn’t that effective ultimately. James is better than I thought he’d be but he’s not ready for those type of minutes. Liam really should be in Greensboro.

Melo really only has his circus shot 3, which is predictable as s#*+, and his sorta penetration floater. He is trying to drive more, and defend better, but..something is lacking. Yes indeed his surrounding cast is struggling to help. I know Miller’s absence hurts but is it really that pronounced? Melo’s limitations aside, his teammates aren’t helping much either. Miles is stone cold starting every game. Sexton is helpful and high energy but not in sync with the others yet. Kon is a fine rookie, but he’s going to graduate school some nights (like tonight) and getting low grades. Kalk the bright spot with blemishes. Mann is horrible, hit a few shots tonight but makes multiple errors every game, sloppy handle and defense, ugh. Moose has his flashes but really isn’t built for this role, and cannot positively support the team most nights at the 5. Liam isn’t capable. James is contributing and should get more minutes, but he’s still a rookie. Plum and Pat can’t get in the game, but we appreciate how their experience is helping mold young minds full of mush. And tonight Tiddy didn’t have any impact on anything…just kind of disappeared in his minor minutes. He did put his head down and drove right into a double team turnover.

This strategy of having Kalk not step outside of 10 feet on defense is just going to bury us this year. We make below average shooters like Bam and Wendell Carter look good, 5 seconds to line up the laces and breathe before taking a shot is just not going to work.

The offense looks bad again, way too much dribbling by Mann, Melo and Sexton and not enough offensive sets.

I guess the takeaway is Kalkbrenner had a few bright spots, but overall a pretty terrible game that never felt like we had a chance to win.

These are the Kon games that I hope don't become a thing. 2/6 shooting in 27 mins, just seems like JAG at times. If the three ball isn't dropping what is he bringing to the team. Once again no FTA, 4 turnovers and team worst -20 +/-
