NFL Trade Deadline: Nov. 4

Post#1 » by Mr B » Fri Oct 31, 2025 1:31 pm

I don’t expect this topic to get much traction since I don’t expect much to happen (nothing significant anyways).

Here is one of the latest rumors though.

Hoping Dallas adds no one.

Adding even Parsons would take us from the 32nd ranked defense to the like the 28th ranked defense. Completely pointless. The only answer is a complete revamp and gutting from head to toe coaching included.

Already done with Schotty?

I know Howie is gonna trade for someone, even just a special teams player; it's his fetish.

Definitely not done with Schotty, the offense is cooking. It is DC Matt Eberflus who will get kicked. I mean, to his defense he inherited one of the worst defensive casts ever and then we removed the best player (Parsons) so he was probably in a situation where it was impossible to excell. I just think this defense needs a full gutting from top to bottom even if unfair to him. This is the worst defense in the entire history of the Cowboys franchise.

They have like 3 guys on that defense who would start on other teams. Bland, Overshown & Kenny Clark. Maybe Osa? Yeah, they definitely need an infusion of talent on that side of the ball.

Yeah that sounds about right. Maybe add Malik Hooker to the list but he has been on IR. We probably have the current worst 2 starting safeties in the league and saftey is so key in a passing league.

I think there's a lot of names being thrown around the usual media shows/podcasts etc. Seen Shannon Sharpe saying Jalen Carter for Myles Garrett 1 for 1? I can see the reasons for both teams but I think Philly probably says no first because of age. Seen another that had Ward plus Myles Garrett for McKee, three 1sts plus a couple day three picks. In what universe does Cleveland accept that? I think Jordan Davis plus firsts is what Garrett would probably take to get done.

Also don't see a AJ Brown for Garrett swap

Would be crazy to pay anything more than 1 first rounder and change imo. As good as Garrett, he is about to be wrong side of 30.

I don't think my Eagles is a type of franchise that throws around high picks for aging players. Rookie scale contracts are very valuable.

Niners already traded for some lineman from Patriots.

Not quite, but pretty close. 1960 was a total nightmare without a draft and 1987 and 1988 was pretty bad as well after 7 years of Gil Brandt taking over player personal and scouting from Tom Landry in 1980. But this years bunch are just awful.

Schotty isn’t the problem. Schotty has actually been a very pleasant surprise. Eberflus is the problem.

Now this would be WILD! Seriously doubt this happens but is fun to think about. Crosby is 2 years younger than Garrett but Myles Garrett is Myles Garrett! Also heard the Cowboys are in talks with the Jets for Quinnen Williams.

I have been reading lately that the Cowboys are hard up for an elite DT. With 4 FRP’s
Over the next 2 seasons would they have enough to trade for Quinnen Williams and Crosby or Garrett?

This defense isn’t 1 player away but how much better would they be by adding Garrett, Williams, and Overshown (who will be back soon)?

I can see AJ Brown get traded, and DE is a need for the Eagles right now. But I can't see a Brown-Garrett trade either.

Eagles are another team rumored to be interested in Myles Garrett. I’ve hear Browns asking for either Jalen Carter 1 for 1 for Garrett or asking for 2 FRP’s. Not sure if the Eagles bite or not.

You've known me for quite awhile now. Over 10 years I believe. Haven't I been bitching about DT's and LB's for over 12 years and running now. AND WE STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS WE HAD OVER A DECADE AGO. This isn't progress. Its insanity.

I would not be for this trade if we have to give up any draft picks. No way.

At least 10 years. I won’t say it’s from lack of effort because they have spent valuable resources on those positions they just have been good at talent evaluation.

Hope that doesn't happen. Even if we had both Crosby and Garrett our defense would be mid at best.

IMO the most bang we could get from 1 single player would be an elite CB. But I guess they have paid Diggs his money and we are stuck with that.
