I feel the exact same way about being disinterested in the nba this year with how overwhelming the scoring is. The playoffs were amazing last year and hopefully will be the same this year. But the regular season inflated scoring and fast pace to begin the season is way too overwhelming. All these insane high scores and 40/50+ pt performances by players make everything feel less special. Crowds have turned into all star game atmospheres because teams are scoring every second. Every game u watch every team inbounds the ball so fast and rushing down the court like the ball is a hot potato and the shot clock is only 10 seconds long. This is what Silver Iikes I guess

The NBA has it wrong. They simply focus on "scoring", but what makes basketball interesting is creative scoring. It could be done through individual creativity, skill and effort or creative/ tactical coaching.

But getting a bunch of guys running up and down the court on fast breaks, chucking transition 3's & playing no defense. That's not interesting, creative or competitive. Boring.

Hopefully iq shows up on both ends. If I continue to see him ignore the right play and pound the rock I’m going to blow a gasket.

At the same time, if the raps were playing well I'd be FAR more interested. I'm very jaded about their weak start. After the Hawks win I was over the moon, ready to start glazing. Now I'm not even sure I want to watch.

Watching a good team from 2014 to 2020 has spoiled me. I've little to no interest in mediocre basketball after over half a decade of good play.

Can you imagine a guy like Lowry or kawhi doing that? It’s unprofessional man. These guys need to take this **** serious if they wanna win games.

The funny thing about that was how upset the team got at the end of the game when Martin pulled off that last second dunk. They all thought it was unprofessional........but a Scottie does this crap all of the time. Grow a pair. If you guys are going to act like trolls, then expect to be trolled.....and don't whine about it when it happens.

Between the arguing with the refs rather than playing defense & trolling guys this way...........how can people take you seriously? That's not leadership. Also, annointing someone as the team leader before they have earned it (by showing maturity & positive leadership traits).......that's just bad management.

Everyone is getting tired of it. If you're winning, do whatever you want. But, when you really haven't done much wining in this league, maybe have some humility and do that first before trolling on the court.

Who's the Calves?

Hope we can find a way to play some defense. I'm just glad that I have had the blue jays to distract me from this bad start to the season.

Definitely not worth the extra effort. Watching a scrappy, resilient jays team win their first World Series in 32 years, or watch a lazy, immature, raptors team get destroyed in the 6th game of the season… there’s an obvious choice here.

The whole Scottie/looking back on fastbreak dunks is blown out of proportion.
He's been doing it since his high school days. Let him be himself.
It's such a non-issue.
I agree with you about that in particular. That's just having fun.

I do think the maturity and sulking bit is an issue though.

The complaining to refs and losing your man in the process is a big no-no

The lookback on fastbreaks = non issue

The focus on the 3 point line and fouls being called for the slightest contact is why the NBA has turned to crap.

If refs allowed for more contact similar to the playoffs and the league put a cap on the amount of 3's teams can shoot then maybe they would have a better product on the floor

Not betting on it happening though

Scottie has issues, this isn't really room for debate.

But we have far larger issues in terms of why we aren't winning, enough so that his maturity should indeed be very far down the list of things we need to care about at the moment. Like, Boogie isn't wrong: Barnes is an immature twit a lot of the time, but he's playing really well right now and we're getting wrecked because we are among the worst defenses in the league. Like, the magnitude of our failure on D is comparable to some of Duncan's peak Spurs defenses in the other direction. We're a -7.1 defense at the moment, third-worst in the league. And that's not on Scottie. Nor is our atrocious rebounding.

We correct that, we start winning, and Scottie's little moments start to fade out of focus a lot more.
